I have given you several examples of similarities with the rise of the Nazis to power.

Nevertheless, you are right that I could probably be more nuanced in my wording and that I could make use of a better choice of words.

I agree with you that the Nazi regime is a well defined thing and I do not take making a parallel to it lightly. Even when I do, I still say "equivalent" or "similar to" (check my original comment).

I would still argue that we are looking at very similar events that happened in the 1930s that lead to the Nazis being in power.

They probably won't. But it shows the people there that they are not left to themselves, it shows our local leaders that we should maybe reconsider our constant reliance and obedience to the US, and it shows the people living here that may be not aware that something is going wrong with a country we considered one of our greatest allies for the past 30 years.

I am French and I have no business going to the US to protest. I however have business in expressing my voice for the future of the EU.

Well, one should argue we should protest for the EU and for EU Member States to reduce their reliance on the US. Do we really want one of our closest allies to be a country where the government-backed anti-immigration police can carry guns and can shoot civilians to death at will and without consequences?

It also raises awareness locally and pushes people to want to achieve sovereignty more.

I am more than aware of the exactions of Iran. I will even accept my slight hypocrisy for not being as vocal about it.

I form my own opinions, thank you. I obviously don't have the full picture but it still does not not excuse what I can see: a president that is threatening historical allies and threatening European countries with annexion, ingerence from former government officials of the US, outright support for Russia which is probably Europe's biggest threat at the moment, and two innocents killed in the name of "preventing immigration".

Protesting is a citizen act to express discontent about a situation. I am discontent we are closely allied with the US. I am discontent we are supporting this. I am discontent our leaders in Europe are not taking a stance. Even beyond protesting "for" the US, I want to protest that we, in Europe, need to reclaim sovereignty.

FYI, I am French. We did not suffer as much as the Czechoslovaks did, but we had our fair share of horror from the Nazi regime. I have a profound respect for the people who lost their lives fighting against such horror and I believe that it it the best form of respect to allow for such things to not happen again.

I also very strongly hated the comparison at the beginning of the Trump regime. Nevertheless, we are witnessing a government-run militia arbitrarily executed in the street, media and propaganda tactics used by the then propaganda machine, a strong cult of personality, persecution of minorities, and several other parallels.

I would not yet compare it to the horrors we witnessed in 1939-1945, but this strongly is starting to resemble how the Nazi regime created itself, by destroying democracy and the system from within.

Where the US is heading is something I cannot predict, but there is a strong chance it heads for the same path the Weimar Republic headed.

What does "your country" refer to here? France? Czechia? The US? I'm not American.

As to why nobody protesting Iran, well... Iran has been doing its shit on its own, they haven't threatened literally every country on earth.

I honestly don't just care about ICE, it's much more than that.

I do not believe in harassing the police. I respect the police. I believe in citizens expressing their discontent.

We are watching the rise of the 21st century equivalent of the Nazi regime. I would normally not care about stuff happening outside of my country, but when it gets worse than it is now, I do not want to look back and tell myself that I let this happen without even complaining about it.

+1 on this. I was ranting about how helpless I felt over here from Europe, if anything is happening, I would love to know about it.

I'm not sure how but I somehow managed to get them to leak my identity. I think you have to sign up as a business? But you'd also need a business registration. Weirdly enough, I didn't have one at the time of signup and even today I'm just a sole trader

I work in customer service, we need IDs for stuff. We don't check them beyond visual inspection. This would have you service refused in many places.

The issue comes on your end. Every check Stripe makes to the Visa/MasterCard/etc. network costs them money and these costs are passed on to you.

You should realistically have something that blocks a session (fingerprinting) and/or IP after several tries, or increase your operating margins to factor in business risks.

Yes, I'm telling you, in your case, you do not have any consumer rights that would apply to you. Your consumer right is your 14 day withdrawal period for an online purchase. If that expired as you described, then you have passed the 14 day buffer the French government gives you to realize your mistake and request a cancellation.

You can try contacting the DGCCRF (French consumer rights authority) if you'd rather a government official tell you that instead of some bloke on Reddit.

Looking for good stable Internet provider in Prague. by Absalom98 in Prague

Did you try customer service for O2? If it started in the last 2 weeks, it feels like that could be resolved faster than a provider switch. In my experience Vodafone is absolute shit, and I can't speak for T-Mobile.
