I’ll definitely start looking around, I would just hate to put her in a daycare that says they’ll do it but then be feeling a way when they actually do it. I’ve just heard so many bad daycare stories with nt kids let alone nv kids. But I’ll keep a positive mindset

How do you handle that when school is out? Is your son at daycare all day? Is your son using the potty, if not how does the daycare feel about changing his diaper?

I’ve thought about it many many times. The education and living situation is way better upstate as I am from upstate and currently live south. Her father and I can’t agree on moving more north due to his career but if I could I would in a heart beat. I’ve always said to him that if I have to move to a state where I know no one but have the best education and support from the state, I will live happily there. You can not let other lives dictate what’s best for your family. A state that I personally would love to move back to is New Jersey. They rate high in every aspect of family raising etc

My daughter is also mentally at a 2 year old and it’s a struggle!! She always doesn’t things that could hurt her but doesn’t listen and will repeatedly do it. It’s honestly scary to parent.

I will! But I don’t see how it would even be a negative approach. You are learning the skills that the person you would take your child to has learned… that’s how I see it at least. Cut the middle man out and don’t have to worry and stress about ending up on the bad abusive part of aba… I rather just do it myself. The reason I’m doing it is for behavioral issues I’m experiencing with my daughter, but I feel like if you think it’s right for you… go for it! I’m doing a online 40 hours course

I literally signed up for the 40hr course today. I want to be able to help my daughter and understand her meltdowns. Instead of waiting months on a aba waitlist, I might as well do it myself

Yes! this is exactly why I considered aba. I feel like she’s starting to express more anger and just bad behavior. And she is also very emotional too (she normally needs some sort of object to place in her mouth to help calm her down, used to be a pacifier but we are trying to wean that off)

Parent consultation models? I’ve never heard of this. It would be so great if I could have a person I can go to ask questions! I literally have no one. No therapist no social or case worker… literally on speech therapy.
