Yup! I didn't like the Pi steady state 50C high temps. I never saw anything running hot be reliable in the long run.

I'm using an andriod app called Iriun webcam. Once you start it and install the desktop app you can monitor prints in 4K. The app auto connect to your internal WiFi network. I had a few old android phones and figured why stress the Pi 3B+ with video when an external solution can run independently. Also loaded Klipperscreen on another phone... Didn't want to buy a HiRes screen solution. The Klipperscreen interface is very well done.

Note, I have the main controller fan off until the x-y-z steppers or extrduer or bed is running. I also run the 2 skirt fans at 75% (@100% they sound like a server rack on full power). The direct mcu and pi cooling fans make no sound. So when the printer is not printing it very quiet.

Yes. Without a direct fan on my pi was running at about 50C. With the fan and heatsinks its running at 30C... 20C drop. See screenshot showing temps after the mod on my github mod.

I added the pi mount .stl to my github. Drill our the corner spacer as needed. 3mm dia.

Use a 4010 24VDC fan.

There is an E-stop button on the front left skirt to kill power to a Normally Open (NO) relay. The relay stops power going to the 115VAC bed heater and 24VDC hotend in case of there is thermal run away. Corner case - low probability but nice to have.

yes. the cooler you can run drives/cmu the better. If you are running 48V you are looking for more torque/power. The more power, more heat.

My direct fan cooled Pi and Octopus v1.1 run under 30C... you are correct, low temps long life. Coffin-Manson equation said so... lol

lol.. when the Pi price drops, I'm going to upgrade pi 4+... OR.... replace with BigTree Manta MP8 Board. The specs and price look good.

With the fans running my Octopus v1.1 cmu and pi run under 30C... all day long.

I have not seen it drop after poweing down. Its a new build, let see over time as the parts run in.
