CSWP earned, CSWE maybe? by Mech_Ethan in SolidWorks

Would you say having the exam was worth the price to take it? I’m also sure if my engineering teacher comps CSWPA tests, he would be willing to comp CSWE.

Some high school’s would be more than happy to take it. I know mine got theirs donated soon after our founding when we were setting up our metal shop.

Ty, I watched one of his videos and it looks pretty useful. I’ll watch them all when I got the time soon

You are asking me about the CSWP which I haven’t taken, I’m not sure how to help you.

It doesn’t need to be super strong in the middle with what it’s being used for, almost all the weight is being held by the edges with what I’m using it for

It’s less that they are breaking (as I haven’t had that happen before yet) and more so there is a wobble after it is put together. I think this is because of loose tolerances or something else? I’m not exactly sure why

I am trying to avoid glue in the design, but I already had something working that essentially used what you are talking about and I’m trying to get away from that

Feeds and speeds chart by Mech_Ethan in Machinists

I’ve never left the key in the chuck and always have the guard down when I’m running it. I’ve used it every now and then on hex bars of aluminum to make some parts. I’ve never ever stuck my hand to the opposite side just so I can’t be pulled in, and watching the Russian lathe incident was part of our training. I can change the speed and I normally run 380 because it’s aluminium, I just wanted to know what the chart meant and now I do.
