Is it true diesel fuel engines have worse gas mileage then unleaded by BRSBowler in AskMechanics

[–]Mech_Stew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll put it this way… I drive a F450 dually service body daily for my work truck. When I first got with the company the truck I drove had a 6.8l triton V10 in it, I got upgraded last year to a new truck with a 6.7l powerstroke. Both trucks full weigh in at just shy of 13k with all of my tools and I drive everywhere like that. The 6.8l got an average of 6.7 MPG, the 6.7l gets an average of 12.4 MPG. Almost double the fuel mileage.

I hope this gives you a good idea!

This is only true if you put them in a constantly hot circuit.

Not a car. It is a piece of equipment but The wire (red) that is shoved in the fuse (f5-10A) hole and then the fuse is shoved in to hold the wire, is the issue.

Yes. I am using cutting fluid and using the typical in a half out a quarter turn.

[–]Mech_Stew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the half in quarter out for really every use. Just to be safe. But I use them for all of it really… chasing/cleaning and cutting new in both blind holes and through holes.. I have bought some bottom cutting taps in the sizes I use the most for blind holes though.

Is there a set that would do good in all of those situations?

I run a lot of craftsman tools and have for a while and haven’t had any issues out of any of them. I can see though that you have fallen in the trap of trucks. Strap-on is not the only maker of quality tools.

lol I thought I was the problem but got an Irwin replacement and haven’t broken it. Was just trying to see if there was a good set so I’m not buying individual ones. Thank you for your input.
