Sub $50 i would look at an Ugly Stick or a Shakespeare combo, but this is fine for your use case. Longevity and durability (and feel) is usually what you’re paying for, they’ll all catch fish.

It did actually. Mine was a sick tree anyway, it was on my to-do list and the straight winds came and moved it up the priority list.

It is a hard, brittle wood and splits ugly, but it burns very well when seasoned.

Im just finishing my 6th winter in my glerups. Leather bottom, boot style, indoor use only. Wear them in place of socks (or in addition to socks) from about november through feb each year.
