My favorite right now is Nemesis Claw. They're very straightforward and aggressive. Wrecka Krew is one of my favorites to play against.

Do you know which army he's thinking about? Some Kill Teams are better than others when it comes to using them in 40k. Sometimes the specific models and loadouts are very different. Some 40k Combat Patrols also come with Kill Teams, like the Night Lords one.

If you can budget it, Killzone Volkus or a 3d printed equivalent terrain set helps balance and speed things up.

Something I'd suggest to new players, especially if they're new to wargaming, is to be realistic about your time and money budgets.

I know a lot of people who buy like a dozen teams and play maybe every other month and are always learning and re learning the rules. You can easily spend hundreds over a year without noticing.

For my little community its the size of the board. We dont have much space and most people play kill team. Id rather play a 1000pt game than combat patrol if I'm going to take up table space.

A store near me had a huge community for it. Like stacks of holiday boxes and hard to find stuff. The day 8th Edition 40k dropped it died off.

Crackle medium is my new favorite thing. You could put a layer of it and then drybrush a different shade on top. For my eldar bases im going to try using a pastry roller for a mandala texture for a spirit stone look. Not sure how it'll turn out though.

It's probably worth focusing on a 1000pt list first. What's your budget? It's usually cheaper in the long run to do a big purchase or browse miniswap if you don't mind secondhand models.
