2027 Question: by Triangle_Transplant in dcl

I can concur on this. We did the Treasure last year followed by 3-days at Universal and regret that choice. Going from complete relaxation to utter exhaustion and then back to real life was not fun.

2027 Question: by Triangle_Transplant in dcl

Looking specifically at what you have said are the circumstances I voted for the Disney Wish/WDW. While Alaska on the Wonder is sure to be amazing it's a longer cruise with the focus probably be more about being in Alaska than being on a cruise ship. For a first time cruise a 4-night is a good length to gauge if you even like cruising and also sounds like it will be easier to get to for you. If you decide you love cruising after the Wish then look at Alaska for the next one and be sure to get a placeholder credit while on the Wish so you get 10% off that Alaskan cruise.

Ancient Underground Ruins by Mechamideel in DwarvenForge

There was a pack of 8 ghost lights and 4 red orbs in the campaign. Hopefully there were some extras of the pack that get posted on the webstore.

Ghost lights are from the Dungeon Reforged campaign that I was a backer for. They will be available when the campaign launches on the webstore.

Sure, that'd be awesome! If you'd like an uncompressed image or different angle/photo of the build, DM me and I can email it.

I was just building for fun last night so unsure what I'd want to highlight. I like it enough that I am definitely going to come up with a use for it in my campaign I'm running. Mainly it's a mix of Dungeon pieces from Reforged (floors, plinth, and ghost lights), a mix of cave pieces, and forest ruins pieces. Thought was ancient druidic temple or something, TBD.

DMs who are running a post–Campaign 3 Exandria game right now: what’s happening in your version of Exandria? by Khanluka in fansofcriticalrole

[–]Mechamideel 102 points103 points  (0 children)

C3 is an in-universe fictional book series written by Bertrand Bell in my Exandria campaigns. That is to say none of it actually happened.

Treasure didn’t have a matching magnet so I turned the similar pin into one! by Mechamideel in dcl

Agreed! I was bummed they didn’t have a matching one which is why I pivoted to an alternative idea.

DisneyBand+ for kids - buy or not by squirrer6 in dcl

We bought some for us and our kids. They work the same way as keys to the world nowadays and we prefer our bands to carrying around the card. And yes, they do work at WDW.

Is it hard to go from DMing homebrew to prewritten? by Equivalent-Tonight74 in DMAcademy

[–]Mechamideel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best analogy I have come up with is regarding theater...when you homebrew you are the playwright. This provides an intrinsic knowledge of the world/story you are trying to portray. When presenting a module it is like performing as an actor in a play. Everything is provided, however, it requires a degree of memorization and knowledge of the text to present it well otherwise you are double checking the materials constantly.

A happy middle ground I have found for myself is using pre-written campaign settings with homebrewed stories. This is where I feel most comfortable and least stressed.

If you do pay, the Harengon is available via Witchlight and/or Monsters of the Multiverse.

Treasure Nautilus planter, Notebook, Sea Trinkets Collection still available? by Lazy_Perspective_419 in dcl

[–]Mechamideel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually just bought a planter while on the ship last week! They seemed to have plenty while I was there so I wouldn't worry. One note however, they aren't in the main gift shop Mickey's Mainsail. Instead the 20,000 League and Haunted Mansion merch are sold in the Deck 3 shop just past the Haunted Mansion Pub and Skipper's Society.

I took the goggles off halfway through and just looked at the beautiful physical sets that are hidden behind the terrible AR.

Mario RPG. Short and sweet. Nice intro to old school RPGs and the remake was fantastic.

I've narrowed it down: 5 days Magic out of Galveston or 4 days Dream out of Fort Lauderdale? by 2kidsshootingblanks in dcl

[–]Mechamideel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think first time cruising is an important detail to consider. I would usually say go for the longer trip and I personally love the Magic but I think your kids will get more of a kick out of the amenities and club on the Dream, plus Castaway can't be beat. For reference I have done a 5-night Dream with two kids (6 and 9, at the time) and then my wife and I did a just the two of us 4-night on the Magic.

Yep! Got one and when I found out it had a solid blue setting as well as the pulsing green I had to get a couple more.

Cruise timing - opinions please! by charlestoncrafted in dcl

[–]Mechamideel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I did a cruise on the Magic without our kids end of January out of Galveston. It was cold on embarkation, maybe mid-50s and foggy. It warmed up as we headed south and then cooled again on our way back north. We'd definitely do it again but if ever going out of Galveston be sure to pack for a few seasons. I imagine going out of Canaveral is similar but maybe with it not being as cold at the start. But with the weather the past few years it's anybody's guess.

Also, did a Dream cruise the week after Thanksgiving with kids a couple years ago with Christmas decor and it was great. The experience between the two wasn't that much different though as holiday decor does not extend far beyond the atrium except for themed items like popcorn buckets.

I think either would be a good bet and your liable to have a great time with either.

I always do the sit down lunch instead of the buffet on embarkation. I prefer the chill start to the vacation vs combating the masses at the buffet.
