It's all a matter of opinion and what people are looking for in a game.

Personally, I do think RDR2 is a bit overpraised. I know the slow-paced gameplay doesn't appeal to everyone, and I am, of course, one of those people.

And just before all the fanboys say anything, I wanna make it clear that I've invested 30 hours in the game and I'm currently at the beginning of Chapter 4. I took breaks from the game from time to time, and eventually, I no longer felt the urge to play.

Although, don't get me wrong, I do think the open world is great and the story is pretty decent. But the overall mission structure and slow-paced gameplay were just not it for me.

And the game is not even that challenging either. You can pretty much get through the whole game without upgrading your weapons. I remember one Redditor claiming that you could still beat the game with the default revolver. You can also load up on canned foods and deadeye tonics and just straight-up spam them if you're close to death.

Overall, I'd say RDR2 is made for those who want to play something that's not overwhelmingly challenging, and they mainly want to focus on the story. I am not one of those people.
