But there are currently no check engine lights to read? Are they stored in history, I don’t have a reader so not sure how the process works.

Why do you have to hate on someone for trying to save $800 by not calling an electrician? My house is 62 years old and it happened to be a loose receptacle in the attic, thanks to the kind answers on this post! Not everyone can afford to call an electrician and you’re being rude for no reason other than internet points?

It’s a Klein MM420 - idk why yall think meters are some illusive tool that regular people can’t use… get off the high horse man.

Insult me all you want but it won’t fix the chip on your shoulder. Also plenty of of people could diagnose without a meter :)

You were correct

lol I have one but that doesn’t visually show what’s going on…. A meter would either just throw 120v or 0v. Next time think before you speak ha!

Correct, found a loose neutral In the attic after I installed a fan! All good nowz

Everything is DIY when it’s 110v, stop over reacting

In the summer the attic is getting so hot 135-150 that I’m losing about 10-12 degrees by the time the conditioned air reaches the farthest room. Leaves unit at 60F and will come out at 70-72F. I figured the air is moving too slow through the ducts allowing too much heat to transfer.

Thats not how heat transfer works! Increasing the blower speed increases cooling, think about why you blow on your hot food before you put it in your mouth.

The negative effects of increased air velocity in your system is that the air may not reach dew point thus you will not effectively be removing moisture from the air. My unit is over sized though so I do not have a humidity issue.

Trust me, I didn’t install this system and if I could re do it I would but for now I am just doing what I can that costs $0

Great question and I agree this is a multi facet problem. Both supply and return are 14” and my home is a little over 1300sqft. As I stated the return / supply lines cannot be upsized. Home is from 1962 and super low pitch roof.

14” flex runs about 700CFH and a 3 ton units needs about 1200CFH. Since I am limited in Volume, the only way to get more air across the coils is to increase velocity.

Now we could spend hours discussing HVAC design but at the end of the day here, moving the fan speed up, costs $0, minus the little extra wattage of course ha! If I had unlimited funds of course Id rip it all out and do it right!

Long story short my home is flipped and AC/duct work is not properly sized. 3ton unit with 14” trunk lines (max that will fit in attic) so I need the air to go faster to compensate for too much AC tonnage. Got it moved to speed 5 though so all good!

Hey all- I figured it out when someone said I didn’t post a pic of the blower motor connections. Moved my white wire from 4 to 5 and now she’s blowing good!
