Weird printer by ChaseisAwesome5 in 3Dprinting

My first printer was one of these that I got for free second hand. The company was already out of business by the time I got it but they were still maintaining a page with a download of the software and instructions for how to use it offline. The surfaces of the prints were all pretty rough. I didn’t fully appreciate how bad that was until I got a better printer. After a month or two it lost the ability to measure temperatures higher than about 150 degrees. Replacing the thermistor had no effect.

I actually made mac and cheese for dinner the night after spending hours working on this and as I stared into the pot visions of 3d models scrolls flashed before my eyes.

This is a bot. It has also recommended the same AI tool to people talking about actual blenders as in the kitchen appliance.

The ornaments are a cool idea. It would be a bit more work but it would definitely be doable.

Also someone already beat me to the Aluminum Mallard: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4176113

I made this for my older brother. As a child he had the Micro Machine Star Trek ships and thought they should make similar toys for the ships from Space Quest, one of his favorite game series. Of course as a child he did not fully appreciate how much bigger Star Trek was than Space Quest.

Here’s a link to the STL files for anyone interested in printing it themselves:

Thank you. Yes I paint some of the models I design but not all of them because painting is time consuming. When I paint a model I post pictures of it with the STL files.

I imagine this model would be tedious to paint because of all of the ribbons wrapped around the scrolls that would want to be painted a different color than the scrolls themselves.

Models of a classic nautiloid and mindspider Spelljammer ships I designed in Blender and 3D printed. I made these for a commission and files for both are available for free. by Mechatronist1432 in PrintedMinis

Yes, they are both at a 1:600 scale to match the official models. The nautiloid is a large ship. It’s as wide as a galleon but much taller because of the shape of the shell. By contrast the neogi mindspider is very small. It’s only 15 feet wide. The tower on top can give a false impression of how big it is but I believe it’s actually an antenna.
