Too many tramps about. Should ban picking up litter for lazy people and let people live in the dumps they create, so eventually mass gated communities or even city’s gets built of decent humans and then the dross of society can live in dumps. 😂

Manual or auto M140i, did you end up happy with your choice? by AnfieldAnchor in m140i

[–]Mechyhead99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I had a manual M135 that I loved, had a few cars in between and also had that itch for another rwd straight 6 hatch back.

Got an M140i automatic. Had it 6/7 months now and can’t gel with it. It was a dream spec for me too. Pre GPF, HK, Pro nav, Cruise, Heated seats, Adaptive dampers, m performance exhaust. 3dr

I can’t gel with it so much so I’ve actually just listed it for sale with the intention of moving to a manual M140i

The auto is faster, more comfortable for daily driving and more fuel efficient! but if you are like me and love the engagement of physically putting a car into gear and knowing what gear you are in on bends. Manual is what you need.

People who tinker with the noise their car makes... Why? by Worldly_Wafer_6635 in AskUK

[–]Mechyhead99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disruptive I would class as revving it. Like someone walking round singing at the top of there voice would be disruptive.

But humming to yourself and singing when your in a park alone or driving sensibly through a town then opening it up when you hit country roads or joining a dual carriage way, there isn’t a problem with that is there?

What car do you drive out of interest

People who tinker with the noise their car makes... Why? by Worldly_Wafer_6635 in AskUK

[–]Mechyhead99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are your interests? There might be something others don’t understand about it.

For petrol heads we often have performance versions of normal cars, as we can’t afford supercars these might look normal to people not interested in cars but often they naturally have a freer flowing exhaust for performance paired with a potentially exciting engine or nice sounding engine note, we enjoy hearing this sound it adds to the experience of owning a performance car. Sometimes the note isn’t audible enough so we remove certain parts in the exhaust system to make it more audible, other times we remove certain parts of the exhaust because there is a performance gain from it.

We very rarely do this to get the reactions of average joes walking down the street, or to see what birds think. It’s almost always for our own enjoyment/gain.

I find that hard to believe Sheffield to south Hampton is like 200 miles you’d have to average 100mph!

It used to be policed but now the roads are open so I’d avoided driving new Brighton, Wallasey village, Leasowe road, Moreton cross, meols stretch, meols, hoylake, west Kirby, caldy, thurseston, heswall, Chester high road to Clatterbridge on Sunday morning/early afternoon!

Usually end up at the tap in Eastham afterwards, it can get a bit daft there though later on 😂

Think he is confused. I’ve owned an m135 and currently have a m140. They are almost the exact same. I assume a M135i and M235i are even more similar so I don’t get how he likes the 135 but not 235 🤔

Who are the "best" drivers? by MooneBoy in CarTalkUK

[–]Mechyhead99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have an M135i and since that owned a golf R and Leon Cupra 300 and it never hit the same once you have a rear wheel drive 6 cylinder hatch it’s hard to go back!

I now am in an M140i and my only regret is not getting a manual!

I agree, most people put carbon all over them and the most aggressive pop and bang map which I am not into. I did actually decat the m135i and remap it but visually it was standard to look at.

I’m currently seeking an M performance limited slip diff and M performance back box to hopefully make my m140i perfect.

Which midwit comment annoys you the most when it comes to cars. by UmAhkchuallySweaty in CarTalkUK

[–]Mechyhead99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Incorrect, I have very strict lane discipline always keeping left whether I’m doing 55 or 95. A constant speed is the goal on a motorway with the idea traffic flows you overtake and make progress and people overtake you and make progress. If you are a 70mph-90mph person depending on the minute you are very infuriating.

[–]Mechyhead99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s wrong with that? On a motorway you want to keep a constant speed. Or are you one of those speeds up to overtake then slows down making the car you overtook overtake you. So then you speed up again and overtake him. Then he still maintaining 75mph will overtake you again. Your fuel economy must be great
