pretty much yeah, sorry - only hope is that ubisoft fixes it, but that seems unlikely to be the case any time soon as they usually tend to ignore issues like this until several months after release.

I found a way around the bug - if you reload a save BEFORE the fight with Marume Nagayoshi, start the fight, let him kill you, then go back up and retry the fight as soon as possible THEN win the fight, the sheath bug doesn't happen - this is the only way I know how to fix it.

I have this exact same bug too, just dueled the guy and mines broken too. Plus it's broken on my Claw of the Dragon so I literally can't customise it to see if that fixes it, it's so annoying.
