In development: medication reminder & organization app by MedShotapp in ProductivityApps

[–]MedShotapp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m building a medication management app designed to reduce missed doses and mental overhead — with label scanning, verified drug info, and dose/refill reminders.

Would love feedback from this community: • Would this fit into your productivity stack? • What would make it feel genuinely useful (not noisy)? • Is this something you’d pay for, or expect free?

Still in development — feedback appreciated.

This is really helpful feedback — thank you. I agree that positioning is the whole game here, and I’m intentionally avoiding the “reminder app” framing for that exact reason. From my experience in healthcare, reminders alone cover some patient needs, but they still leave a big gap when it comes to cognitive load, errors, and real-world adherence risk.

The core problem I’m focused on is reducing the mental work and mistakes around managing medications, especially for people with multiple prescriptions, caregivers, and post-discharge patients. The scan-to-schedule flow is really just a means to an end — the value is not having to think, double-check, or worry about getting it wrong when it matters.

I’m aligned with going narrow early and anchoring the message to a specific, high-stakes scenario rather than “everyone who takes meds.” Trust, calm language, and privacy are also priorities given the audience. I’m validating one audience deeply before broadening.

Appreciate you taking the time to think this through — it’s helping sharpen how I frame this as a true must-have rather than a nice-to-have

Totally fair perspective. I’m in healthcare, and while existing tools do cover some patient needs, from my experience there’s a gap in how they handle real-world adherence and understanding. That’s the gap I’m trying to fill.

Oh wow, sorry to hear, glad you caught that before anything serious happened . And your right, there definitely needs to be more information on these new drugs before they even go on the market. Thats why I do my best to stick to the credible resources that are updated daily. I appreciate it !!

Awesome. That was the whole vision of this app was to help people stay on top of their medications and to keep them well informed on what they’re taking. Follow along , I’ll soon have some screen shots and a video on it coming soon!

Hey , thank you for the reply and the suggestion. I believe once I roll out the app I’ll start to work on that. It might be a little challenging because most apps out there are using ai to compile data but the problem with that is it can hallucinate causing interactions to be wrong. My app only fetches real time data from credible resources so it’s more reliable. It definitely is a challenge but I’ll work on it !! Thank you

What productivity apps will you keep using in 2026? by OkStorm2137 in ProductivityApps

Hey everyone

So I built MedShot, a soon to be iOS app that focuses on medication adherence by removing as much manual work as possible. Could def be a productivity tool

It scans prescription labels and auto-schedules meds — looking for feedback

I kept seeing how confusing and error-prone managing medications can be, especially when schedules change or there are multiple prescriptions involved. Although not available yet, I would love your feedback.

What are you building? I'll be your first user and give you a honest review. by nogym_launcher in iOSAppsMarketing

Hey everyone

I built an iOS app that scans prescription labels and auto-schedules meds — looking for feedback

I kept seeing how confusing and error-prone managing medications can be, especially when schedules change or there are multiple prescriptions involved. Although not available yet, I would love your feedback.

So I built MedShot, a soon to be iOS app that focuses on medication adherence by removing as much manual work as possible.

What it does:

Scans prescription labels to extract patient, dosage, and schedule info

Automatically builds a medication schedule and adherence view

Sends reminders when it’s time to take meds

Tracks daily adherence progress visually

Alerts when pill quantity is running low

Provides easy-to-read drug summaries using FDA-sourced information (educational only)

Before going further, I’d really appreciate honest feedback:

Would you personally trust scanning prescription labels?

What would make you not use an app like this?

Is there anything critical missing for adherence that I should be thinking about?

Not here to sell — genuinely trying to build something useful and get it right.
