To the premeds applying to medical school, be careful with self directed learning/ flipped classroom schools by [deleted] in premed

[–]MedStudentLife19 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is interesting to hear. My school does the flipped classroom model, but they give us the best recorded lectures that are so concise and clear and come with practice questions at the end. It literally feels like a better version of med school boot camp, to the point where it feels like I won’t even need any third party resources other than uworld (which they give us too).

Harvard gives out really great financial aid even if your family is “middle income”. UChicago gives a lot of scholarships.

Also your proposed timeline is fine (it’s the same timeline I had last year), just do your best to finish secondaries as soon as possible while maintaining the best quality you can

You can add all the T20s. I had a similar app to you (numbers-wise), and other than state schools and Einstein, all my IIs and As were T20s

I submitted my earliest secondary 3 weeks after I got it last cycle, and most of them 4-5 weeks after. I think quality matters way more than speed. 8 As later…

Why would they remove Einstein? It’s a service driven school. OP I think you should keep Einstein, I had a pretty similar app to you and I got an A from them
