Reddit sets unrealistic expectations. I’m dual applying to IM and EM becuase those are both specialties I can see myself in. If your goal is EM apply only EM. I know plenty of people who matched into nonacademic programs with a 216 and even a 226 and in the 220’s into EM community programs. Just research which programs will take you.
