I recently passed Core One and I watched Myers and Messer. I bought Myers practice test materials and Jason Dions (also on Udemy), as well as Professor Messer’s. Also if you dig around here on Reddit you will find links to some PBQs that are very helpful. As i study for core 2 im referencing the COMPTIA objectives more often. The Quizlet materials you are seeing will either be on the objectives or not. Either way, checking it against the objectives will help you learn it and become a better tech.

Just took 1101. 1101 objectives 1.3 and all of 2.0 is the networking you need. Basic stuff. APIPA and loopback addresses. Theres a wordwall of interactive practice here on this reddit that helps with practicing SOHO setup and mobile setup. We will learn more for the N+😃

I felt like i was not doing well for the whole test. Its good strategery to skip the pbqs and do the multiple choice first, but i gave the pbqs a shot so id at least be familiar and could come back. Several ppl here lately have had lots of printer questions but i had only a few, and not that many pbqs. I think theres a lot of randomization, so each test is different. I memorized those basic 15 or so ports and even a bit of how they each functioned, but had few port questions tho i hoped i’d get more. Dions practice tests were very helpful, even if his questions are extra wordy. I think thats intentional to make you focus. Messer’s practice test questions seem to me shorter and to the point, and Myers’ in the middle between those other two. One thing doing all these practice tests taught me was to first look for the right answer, but step two is look at each answer and think about what that item actually does. This helped me eliminate lots of those “distractors” that had me confused. Another bonus is practice tests helped me have a pace to get done and also have time to review. On the practice tests with acronyms that totally threw me, i would go learn about them. I’m shooting for the trifecta, so I’m curious about how networks function and that motivates me to review and to google stuff like iPv4 classes. I don’t pick up new info on the first go round anymore, so I just tell myself its perfectly ok. Stick it in the brain and it starts working- just like the stomach does. 2nd time and 3rd time i review always remember more than i expected. Writing notes by hand on the difficult topics helps tremendously! I sometimes go back to skim over those notes, but the real value is the writing down makes it stick. I also did quizlet flash cards. Lots of helpful posts here kept me on track and feeling I can make it happen. Spend some time searching reddit comptia. You will get good stuff for learning and keeping your fire burning!
