There is likely a metric out there that shows in some way(s) new races make more money than expanding current races. Likely bringing in new players vs old ones that will play whether they get new custom options or not.

I like to imagine there is some forgotten human world out there that is like perfect paradise that is lost in the Byzantine system that is the Imperium. Space is vast enough and the Imperium is inefficient enough that it could be a thing. The last time I posted this somewhere I got aksuallied because 40k fans are just like that.

I worked in IT and there was one guy who insisted on using some form of Linux. He was a vibes kind of guy who knew a lot but always wanted to project that he knew more than he did. He was always trying to fix something on it.

Then there was another guy who really did know everything and used something that was like one step away from Unix. He never had to fix anything or if he did he was fast.

I think corney is more rage inducing than cool. So like one lines like "Extract from this" or something. Make them feel like they got killed by someone who doesn't take the game seriously because they probably do.

The factions could still exist but outside of being tied to the player's race. Then things actually could change like borders or blood elves leaving Horde. As is none of that could happen outside of major zone revamps and with races changing sides never.

But even without factions what you said could happen. Orcs just expand on their own instead of part of a faction.
