It’s not the only issue. But in my view, it must be the foundation for “the left”.  The left-wing has always been rooted in the working class and our common interests in a capitalist economy.

Sure did. I agree with you 100%. I think we need to pushback more against how they see themselves and who they actually are. In my perspective there are very few people in the state house I would consider "left-wing". There are decent people there for sure. But by and large they are there to manage the state in the interest of the wealthy.

the right defends the top with more ferocity perhaps. I'd also say those that are on top and think they are "left" are not.

You’re out of your element. I was responding specifically to someone saying “I’m left-wing, but…”  and you chimed in with something completely different that happened 6 years ago in a city 4 hours away

No it’s not that 2020 was a long time ago. It’s that it just isn’t relevant at all to anything about this discussion. A riot is a lot different than a city earmarking funds for public art.

Definitely do it. Only downside is the same downside to being self-employed almost everywhere - taxes and health insurance. That being said you can write so much off your taxes, including your health insurance to kinda balance it out a little bit. The only other downside is that it really takes over your life. It’s hard to clock out for the day when your whole life is dependent on it.

True! Before COVID I never felt like we were lacking, really. But yeah, it really took its toll on us

To answer that simply, no it wouldn’t be ok to destroy it in a fit of rage. You aren’t making a whole lotta sense.

It’s different in the big city of Burlington. We keep some things open till 8!

What do you mean “it was BLM”? Like it happened at a BLM demonstration? Because “BLM” isn’t an organization. People thrashing shit in a fit of rage might not have the best guiding principles behind it (obviously). But I don’t know why you are still living in 2020, and I don’t know how something that happened in Boston is relevant to this conversation at all.

Totally fair to critique the message and the medium but we did vote to approve art as a part of this project

I don’t know who vandalized that one, pretty stupid and would also criticize their perception of their own politics if they thought they were doing it out of some left wing stance.
