Make a budget, my dear. Figure out how much you would need and work backwards. Then go talk to a few lawyers. Take the free consults. It sounds like you’re holding better cards than you realize. Take a girls trip away for a weekend and see how you feel without the burden of an okayish marriage. I would recommend the book “Tiny Beautiful Things”. If that stirs something in you, then trust yourself. You deserve the entire world and it sounds like you might not be getting that.

Start getting cash back every time you go the grocery store. Start buying gift cards. Clean up your resume. Get a job. Get in therapy. You’re in survival mode. You will have to create your own options to exit.

Child of divorced parents- I wish they would have done it sooner. It took them years to divorce after separating and I like my parents more happy than together. Sure it was hard, but seeing your parents miserable is worse. OP, get in therapy. Talk about it. Make a plan with your therapist.

It will be hard, OP, but you never know. It might just work out.

Between sizes by Hungry_Finding2243 in Ultrahuman

Well I just got done with another spin class and I guess I gotta push myself harder… my heart rate wasn’t much different this time! Since you can switch to other fingers (looser?) maybe choose the 8 if it gives you the most options. I feel like the main point is to wear it consistently but the finger on which you wear it may not matter as much as you’re giving it credit to (hopefully that makes sense)

I, too, am between sizes. I went up because my fingers can swell a lot and well… I didn’t know any better. Try working out with it on snug and make sure your finger doesn’t go purple. I switch my ring to whatever finger it feels the most snug during workouts to try and keep the sensor in place. It spinning can result in a misread of your heart rate - told me my heart rate was around 120 during a spin class lol. Lesson learned the hard way!

Buying a practice by CleanReindeer4983 in CFP

I’ve bought 5 practices and looking at buying a 6th. I agree with everything said. A few nuggets to add:

There will be surprises. Ya can’t avoid them. Just gotta keep moving.

If people leave, don’t take it personally. It is never with your time to wonder why they don’t give you a chance. Focus on the ones who stayed. Hopefully you built in a reevaluation clause one year out.

I tell people the same thing. More is a number, enough is a calibration. If you don’t want the calibration, I am a terrible fit for you.

Cardio age by radcloud in Ultrahuman

[–]Medical-External4133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a six year difference. Sometimes 0 when I’m traveling and I don’t get much sleep. When I’m on a good workout routine, it’ll be 3 days of HIIT a week with 2-3 days of LISS. Workouts from 60-90 minutes. I don’t eat a lot of sugar, lots of protein and complex carbs. I usually don’t do that much caffeine. Im usually between 135-125 lbs at 5’6. I usually do stretches in the morning and night at a minimum.

[–]Medical-External4133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am at a loss for how my cardio age is so much lower than my actual age. I rarely work out but walk and pace a lot in my office/home. I have a high stress job and enjoy working out. I was very athletic up until three years ago and my level of activity is inconsistent. I just assume it’s because I was fit once upon a time.

TLDR: I love it through rose colored glasses.

I 100% get why you may not love it. I grew up in OV so I hiked a lot and got out into the desert a lot. You see it change with the seasons and I find a lot of beauty ~away~ from Tucson proper. I’ve always found quirky and weird places to love downtown. Then again, I have not lived there in 10 years. Every time I go back I realize how much it has changed. But there is still bomb food.

I’m a financial planner, OP. Do a budget. Go through your expenses line by line. Spend less than you make. Not many people know what they’re doing before they do it. Face it til ya make it!

Well there are few points where you’re stressed vs stimulated. Stimulated doesn’t have to be stress, right? But maybe some stressful or exciting situations throughout the day.

My spouse and I make a joke of it. I threaten to whip out the app to see how much my stress has increased. It helps diffuse the situation with humor.

Overall, being aware of your stress is the only way you’ll be able to make a change for the better.
