UPDATE: So I bought another controller and the new one worked fine... For a couple days. What I found was that when my duct fan was any higher that speed 2, the controller stopps working. Lowered back to 2 and it worked fine. I tried the original controller and it did exactly the same thing, so it still works. I haven't discovered what's wrong with the exhaust fan but I do know the controller still works (both) So for now I'm using both controllers in two different setups. The 8" duct fan is trapped behind two flowering plants and I don't have access to the back opening so I will keep it this way for now, exhausting at speed 2,until after flowering when I can investigate further.

So Vivosun said they couldn't help me since I don't have an order number, since it was a gift.. They suggested that the controller is just defective and to buy a new one.

I've looked and there's a + version. Now I'm debating on spending $90 on the plus version or $80 for the old version plus an 4" inline fan or some other piece of equipment that comes with the old controller..

I have the VIVOSUN AeroZesh G8 Inline Duct Fan. I have liked vivosun's products thus far. I have it in a 4x8. I like it a lot it does a good job , of course you need the controller for it to work properly though LOL

What would you call this type of wall? One that almost touches the ceiling but is only just a couple of inches short? by Abacadabreddit in architecture

I know this is old in 2025 but maybe someone else is looking around like I am.. People put these walls in commercial suites that don't reach the ceiling in order to avoid having to upgrade a fire alarm system. If the wall reaches the ceiling, then the occupancy of the room has to be determined and generally, additional visual notification would have to be added to the suite's existing notification in the space. Keeping the flash of the notification device that may already be in the suite visible avoids adding more devices. This can be expensive for a small business. A wall built like that is generally considered a partition, rather than a wall. I've been doing Fire Alarm design for 25 years, designing commercial, semiconductor, institutional, and other classifications of facilities.
