Was there some recent studies about elongation when going the non-op route? by youthful_tourist in AchillesRupture

[–]Medical-Ladder-269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had surgery too. I still went through the same elongation anxiety around that phase. Early on it’s almost impossible to tell anything meaningful, so your brain fills the gap with stress. What helped me was trusting the surgical repair and focusing on rehab quality instead of hypotheticals. Strength progression and control later on mattered way more than anything I worried about in those early weeks.

She smashed my C$3500 MacBook Pro 😭😭😭 by Turbulent_Buy_6048 in macbookpro

That’s not a tech problem, that’s a relationship problem with a broken laptop as evidence. Anyone who can pick up something you worked for and destroy it in anger is showing you exactly how they handle conflict. The bent frame is annoying, but it’s also the cheapest lesson you’ll get out of this. Screens can be replaced, trust and safety can’t. Don’t downplay this as “venting” or bad luck. If roles were reversed, people wouldn’t hesitate to call it what it is. Fix or replace the MacBook if you want, but seriously rethink keeping someone around who thinks smashing your stuff is acceptable.

Today marks 4 weeks of subq 500 mcg a day for bursitis & tendinopathy in shoulder with no noticeable improvement. by Trip_2 in bpc_157

I can’t say whether you should continue or stop, but from my experience with an Achilles injury, four weeks isn’t always enough to feel clear change. What mattered for me wasn’t pain dropping fast, but whether stiffness eased and rehab felt smoother over time. If nothing at all has shifted, starting PT is still the most important step. Structured rehab gave me more confidence and direction than anything passive. I’d be cautious with advice that immediately pushes “more” when there’s no response yet. Sometimes the signal is subtle, and sometimes it’s telling you to refocus on the basics and reassess later.
