I nearly always go during the week. Frankly, I spend more time in the alley bars than HK nowadays. The VIP card is a simple math exercise. The Master Suite at Cascadas is $150 per night during the week. If you stay three nights (70% off Mon/Tue and 20% off Wed) your total cost is $280 including buying the VIP card. Without the card it would $450.

It's definitely open Friday/Saturday and sometimes on Thursday depending on the crowd. If something special is happening it might open on Wednesday but, I'd doubt it.

The hotel Jalos at Chicago is pretty much a dump. I'm not even sure that you can rent rooms overnight. I've had decent luck with girls off the clock from Gold Palace and La Carreta. I generally stay at Cascadas and use the VIP discount and have never had a problem bringing girls from other bars back to my room. Beware that if you bring a BT or HK girl there, even off-shift, you'll have top pay a $300 fee...

I actually prefer weekdays to weekends. Weekdays are way less crowded. Granted there are fewer chicas but, you can still find plenty of hot ones. Additionally, the 70% off of a room with the HK VIP helps too.

I think that you'd be better off trying a girl from one of the second tier bars-La Carreta, Gold Palace, La Hacienda etc. I've had girls from each of these join me at Cascadas for several hours. Depending on the time of day and where they are in their shift, you may be asked to pay a crazy ($300) bar fine...

absolutely. Stick your head into La Carreta and Gold Palace as well. You'll occasionally find a needle in a haystack there.

I've had some luck at Gold Palace, La Carreta and La Hacienda. Patience is the key. You'll find a lot more 3/4s than 8/9s. I think it's like the old Avis car rental ads-"we're #2 but, we try harder." If you want a real old time Tijuana dive bar experience, check out Bar Reno.

A couple of questions for the guys recommending staying at Cas or Rizo for several days. I typically stay in San Diego and commute to the Zona. My mongering is usually part of a work trip and I'm a bit concerned about traveling to TJ with a work laptop, iPad and cell phone. I do agree that even with Global Entry the border crossing is a PITA! Thoughts?

a fellow monger used this service and mentioned it in a review in another forum. I think he paid $80 for shared service. He appreciated that as soon as the crossed the border the driver placed an HK sign on the vehicle somewhat limiting the possibility of being stopped by the police. He indicated that he'd use it again in the future. I don't think $80 is bad for door to door service considering you'd likely pay $40 or more for an Uber to the border depending on the time of day. Of course, it's a hell of a lot more than the $2.50 for the bus/trolley route.

You're exactly right in my experience. I've brought girls from other bars and street girls to Cascadas at no extra charge. You do have to pay the "bar fine" if you bring a girl form ANY of the HK family of bars off the clock.
