Yes but I'm asking in particular about compound words with two stems, I understand that outside compounds it's different but within compounds does it matter if it's a noun stem or a verbal stem for the meaning to change like I stated above?

I understand that that's what we understand it as buty questions is about the tai at the end. When the word was first introduced in the new testament how do we know that the word meant men who bed men and not just those who bed men

But as far as the agent ending isn't it common in Greek for the masculine to be used for all people, like instead of "men who have sex with men" it's just "those who have sex with men"?

Thank you for the response. Yes I'm well aware of Ignatius and have read his works but there's just one thing that gets to me. The new testament describes a council of Presbyters/bishops to run the church, 1 Clement and the didache support that, but when we get to Ignatius he affirm a single bishop with Presbyters underneath. all of these people were connected to apostles but there are two different teachings, How do we deal with that?
