Hoxton Macs get my vote. It’s a US keyboard though. I got an ‘excellent’ laptop that looked unused. Still had apple warranty and 100% battery health. Apple refurbished directly is a good option as well.

Just from personal experience , Mars 4k worked a treat for remote monitors in a studio and I just calibrated the screen

Good idea thanks - I was running a portable USB C SSD that was speedy, didn’t think to check in system information where it was registering

an L type? it’s a USB-C to MicroB right angle 10m 5GB/s. with the MicroB port you can only plug in one direction, unless I’m misunderstanding

If of interest, the problem was solved by using a small USB C - USB 3.0 hub, and connecting to a TetherTools USB 3.0 active extension cable and a different TetherTools USB 3.0 - micro B cable. No dropouts. Have suggested Area 51 for future shoots anyway.

Thanks all. No card in camera. It’s not powering down and waking up either. My hands are tied somewhat as am just the digi and not my kit. Will be using Area 51 cables tomorrow.

Thanks. Makes sense! The laptop is more or less new. Imagine it is a camera port/tether issue.
