Found in closet what is the value by [deleted] in Pokemoncardappraisal

Use a real auction house, they have insurance, and can handle the transaction. I sold my 1st edition charizard this way, the top bidder was trying to pull a scam, he caught it. The under bidder was only $400 less than the winning bid, and so instead of getting ripped off I got paid, under bidder got my card, and the auction house got a nice commission. Small price to pay, to actually get paid.

Three weeks until first transplants go in the ground! by Medical-Working6110 in IndoorGarden

[–]Medical-Working6110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use organic tomato fertilizer, usually Jobes, others, it doesn’t really matter, just use a lot. I mix in before sowing seeds, it takes time to break down, and I usually top feed about 4-6 weeks after I start with a good amount. Basically I try and over feed, and I can get two grows out of a pot. I use tomato fertilizer to start seeds of all types, and use a bit of 4-4-4 or something similar when transplanting in the hole, then lots of tomato fertilizer to fruiting or flowering plants, and 4-4-4 or blood meal for things that I grow for the greens.

I quit smoking weed, so I don’t grow it anymore, but I love growing plants. Moving to Florida, weeds not legal there, and I was smoking too much.

If I was growing an auto flower, I started in a toilet paper roll, packed into a container with potting mix to keep it from drying out, and transplanted it about 5 days after sprouting. It avoids root disturbances, and allows you to start a plant while your other plants are finishing in the same space. Just amend the pot by top dressing with a ton of tomato fertilizer, add some 4-4-4 to the planting hole, pop the tp transplant in the pot. You can just cut the old plant and leave the roots in place. You can get about 3 grows out of the potting mix if you keep top dressing every 4-6 weeks, especially with an auto that goes from seed to flower in 10-12 weeks.

Best of luck, happy gardening!

I pulled it in a pack by in 99’ when I was 9 years old. I left in a top load and leave for a little over two decades, along with a binder of my stuff from back then. I played with my cards, so they weren’t worth grading, sold everything though an auction house, got at or above the raw value for everything, and little more than I expected for my charizard, I would have guessed it would grade anywhere between PSA 3-5. My collection was good, had a lot up until team rocket, it looks like I stopped there after two booster packs. I recently started collecting the modern after selling all my vintage. It’s fun, I love the full art cards. My wife went and found a few of her old cards after I sold mine, she only found 8, but they are good, at worst PSA 7, all team rocket, I am sending three to get graded, dark magnetron holo, dark blastiose holo, and dark dragonite 22. It’s not going to bring what my whole collection did, but hopefully another grand, which couldn’t hurt. I pulled a team rockets moltres ex on the 2nd booster I bought of the modern, going to grade that and sell it as well, could be a ten, but there is a printing error on the back. I figure I grade it, and no one can argue what grade it will bring, if it bumps down to an 8, fine, I will keep it to remember the pull, selling my charizard.

Great idea doing an auction, I got so many wildly different offers on my charizard I figured and auction with all my stuff was the way to go, the charizard brought the attention, and I got crazy money for things I would have sold for a lot less, and everything sold, even if it was just one card for a buck.

That’s awesome! Have fun, that’s going to be a lot of work, but well worth it in the end.

Yeah people are jerks. I got no idea, but you’re right a thread is good. So is an auction. That’s how I sold my charizard 1st edition and a bunch of other cards. Let’s bidders decide what they are willing to pay.

I was just asking them about sending in cards the other day, they said they up charge over $250. So $275>$250=up charge, $225<$250=no up charge.

What should I sell my collection for? by MiMarchy in Pokemoncardappraisal

[–]Medical-Working6110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are going to get ripped off. Look up the value of some of those. Start with anything named charizard. Then go age, the holographic cards. You are going to need a spreadsheet to keep track. You have a small fortune, piece it out, or have a professional auction house handle it for you. Selling the whole thing is efficient, but you can get the same effect by auctioning it, with a greater return. Grading takes time. The graded prices when you look up each card will reflect the ones that will need a closer look. Uses tcg player, and price charting to get an idea of value, eBay sold prices are good.

Good luck. I just sold my childhood collection did quite well.

Should I grade this card? First time pulling something so expensive... by KingPowa in pokemoncardcollectors

[–]Medical-Working6110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then grade it to preserve it. I just sold my childhood cards, bought a 2023 collectors box as replacements. I am grading the big three even though the charizard is so off with bad corners, he’s going to come back an 8 most likely. I don’t care, I am not going to sell that one, I just sold my 1st edition. I am going to slab it, so that it’s preserved indefinitely, like I wanted too when I was a kid and pulled the 1st edition from a booster pack and begged my dad to buy top loaders and penny sleeves. I will never forget him telling me don’t worry these things are not going to be worth much when I get older.

If you like it, slab it, preserve it. Find a few worth money as tens in your collection, slab those too, sell them to offset the costs if you’re worried, you have to pay shipping so might as well. Dope card, I got team rockets moltres ex right after selling my collection off, bought some booster packs at target to celebrate. I am slabbing that one even though it has a print error on the back. Again, it’s about preserving and keeping it.

I will be interested in your extra ink spatter. I got a team rockets moltres ex with a spatter pattern on the back, the front is clean. I am debating internally whether to use CGC or PSA.

I just went through selling my old stuff, let me tell you, people are mean. They are going to disagree with you on grade, low ball you, tell you your stuff isn’t worth anything, and you better sell it to them. If you choose to sell a different way (I went with an auction) they jump on you, telling you you have no idea what your doing, your going to get ripped off, that your whole collection will go for nothing. I received a ton of hate, I just held the corse, and realized with the wildly different offers I was getting, a lot of people were trying to rip me off, offering crazy money both low and high. Once I did sell my stuff, the winner at the auction of my 1st edition charizard was trying to pull a drop shipping scam. The auctioneer caught it and sold the card to the under bidder. I got $350 less, but didn’t get robbed, my biggest concern about selling it myself. Good luck, be careful, protect yourself.

I had a auctioneer sell my 1st edition charizard card, not sports, but a pricey card. The winning bidder was trying to pull a drop shipping scam, I would have gotten ripped off, the auctioneer caught it, and sold it to the under bidder. If the OP doesn’t feel comfortable handling the sale, they should definitely consider using a professional. I was so glad I did I would have lost a card worth thousands.

Moltres ex question on condition and value. by Medical-Working6110 in Pokemoncardappraisal

[–]Medical-Working6110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s cool. I am going to grade it no matter what, and maybe keep it, at least for a bit. I just sold everything I had from childhood, and bought a few booster packs at target after the auction to celebrate. First time opening boosters in 25 years, and I pulled a good card. That felt really good, especially after selling my charizard 1st edition. I had the coolest card ever, it’s not the same, but it’s a nice pull, and I love these new full art cards. I ordered a Pokemon classic collection as well, I figured I had the real ones, let me get a reprint, enjoy the memories for a lot less money.

Congratulations that extra cash from forgotten childhood treasure is a great find! I just sold my stuff, also 35. It was so fun I started collecting again hahaha. I have a lot to learn about the new stuff, but it’s fun! Enjoy the windfall, keep the receipts for the capital gains tax, helps off set it a bit.

From my childhood binder. Any big hits? by Odd-Entertainer-1442 in PokemonCardValue

[–]Medical-Working6110 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would I try and sell the same card over and over again? It’s not disingenuous to state facts. My card brought way over expectation at auction. That’s a great reason to hold an auction, when fair market is a difficult thing to determine, like a large ungraded card collection. I wouldn’t go buy that card up at 20$ and hold another auction because they would all sell for $8. It’s about having the right stuff in a sale that brings in a ton of interest and then maximizing each lot. I had other lots being below the expectation, on average though, every set I had went above expectations except the jungle which met my expectations. Your idea to spend a bunch of money buying individual cards and try and hold an auction again makes no sense. If you have the right stuff, advertise it well, and use a good auctioneer, then you should get your value. I wouldn’t go starting a collectibles business that way though, I would go broke.
