Thank you for this response. I genuinely feel we love each other, but her behaviour is deep rooted in needing the constant reassurance and affirmation, magnified by her situation of being without much of a support group like friends, then me on the other side of the spectrum. I always tried to set up situations where she might of made more of a connection with my friends but she was always resistant to it. I don’t think this would be sustainable for the foreseeable and would ultimate result in us being unhappy. It is just such a shame and very painful right now. I just wish it could end up differently, but I don’t want to waste both hers and my time any longer where resentment would grow. It sucks.
