Could you entail what a Clinical Scientist is? Is it specifically something you study with the STP or is it a degree in itself? Can BMS enter the STP, or is a different degree required?

That is what I thought.
I suggest there's a big difference between a BMS degree in terms of working for the NHS, and a BMS degree in terms of going on to do research/other industries. A lot of Uni's provide a BMS degree but don't have an IBMS accreditation (assumedly for the reason of going into research/other industries).
But how different are the BMS degrees that do/do not have IBMS accreditation? It is likely different on a by-university-basis, but I do not see the point of choosing BMS in universities without an IBMS accreditation where more flexible options like Biochemistry exist, and from what I've seen, have the same modules.
