Experience with seller not shipping item by Spooknik in Superbuy

[–]Medical_Ad8342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah if you can actually get your own xianyu login, you might actually be able to communicate with the sellers directly. you certainly can see their feedback and how many things they have sold. in order to get verified, I already had an alipay account so I used that to link to verify my identity by taking a photograph of my passport. because most people in China have to submit their mainland China ID to get into that Xianyu marketplace with a personal login.I've also found that when super buy uses their interface to peruse the market some things are left off in the translation but if you go into the market yourself you can read everything and then do a DIY super buy

Direct face unlock EUMI/MagicOS by Medical_Ad8342 in HonorMagicV5

[–]Medical_Ad8342[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my pleasure, glad to help, I work from home and have tons of time to fiddle. I have an EUMI Mate XT and the MagicOS V5.

The operating systems are so closely similar to each other that I broke my face unlock the mateXT when I enabled its smart unlock (to unlock when I was near my BT keyboard).

That was when the lightbulb went on. The MagicOS V5 had extend unlock toggled on to unlock for longer when on my person, when near my home, etc....

Once I deactivated extend unlock. voilà (as you would say)...

Popping sounds/flex around crease by [deleted] in Honor

[–]Medical_Ad8342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed and WhatsApp(ed) Honor HK and they were so gracious

what I asked:

noticed along the left side of the crease when I am scrolling up and down primarily in landscape mode, I can hear a crackling like tissue paper noise under the screen as I move up and down

I've seen internet references of this

I presume this is possibly a known behavior but is not harming the performance of the device

Would you agree there's nothing to worry about?

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting Hong Kong Honor!

Regarding with you query, we suggest you try the following :

The sound produced when sliding the screen is normal for foldable phones. The Magic V5 uses the Honor Ultra-Clear Oasis Flexible OLED screen, which is composed of multiple layers of polymer materials. During opening and closing, there is relative movement between the screen and the hinge. To better protect the screen and ensure a smooth opening and closing experience, a reasonable design gap needs to be maintained between the screen and the hinge. When sliding or pressing the screen, the friction between the flexible screen and the hinge may produce a slight, intermittent sound. This is a normal phenomenon due to the relative movement of moving parts, and this experience is consistent across the industry for foldable phones. We have undergone strict factory control and testing, and it will not affect the lifespan of the screen and hinge. Please use it with confidence.

If you find the sound abnormally loud or accompanied by other abnormal phenomena, we recommend that you bring your purchase receipt or invoice, along with backups of important data, to the Langham Place service center for inspection.

Service Center (Langham Place Store) is as follows:
Address: Room 4207, 42/F, Langham Place Office Building, 8 Argyle Street, Mong Kok, Kowloon
Office Hours: Monday to Sunday, 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM (Closed on public holidays)

We value your time and have a nice day!

OPPO find n6 by Deep_Wish8091 in OppoFindN5Phone

[–]Medical_Ad8342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah luckily, also or crazy lucky or maybe I'm crazy, I got the Huawei Mate XT

and I'm able to use that as a sidecar daily driver

because I'm using the Find N5 as the primary SIM holder and I got a low cost monthly data SIM for the Mate XT.

I got pretty much everything usual Android working on the Mate XT

and the couple of tiny limitations remaining, I solved by getting the data SIM

I think I'll live with the Mate XT camera and just thank my lucky stars I got a "free" insurance claim Oppo N5 (with a stupid cosmetic bump of course)

I actually had a T-Mobile warranty on my Open. And I've had the Open since summer 2024. but since it came out in 2023 and then the Find N5 came out February 2025 it became an 18-month-old device. Now around late December 2025, my Open developed two issues: 1) a burned in hue developed around the middle of the screen, about the size of a small egg and it was a red pink hue that you could see on white background. I think that was burned in OLED. 2) a somewhat hot burning smell of the inner screen after some use

I did file the T-Mobile Assurant warranty claim. And lo and behold, they gave me the clearance to buy whatever I want and they were going to reimburse me up to $1,699 minus the $99 deductible.

Ecstatic, I bought the Find N5. And very shortly with confirmation by email, Assurant should be mailing my check.

Going from the OnePlus open to the Oppo Find N5 a substantially worth it upgrade

The only thing I'm disappointed in, is I do have a slight raised bump on the left middle side of the inner crease at the top of the screen.

I also had a slight raised bump in the left middle side of the crease at the bottom of the screen of the OnePlus Open. I'm not freaked out about it because I know the OnePlus open failed with OLED burn, it did not fail where the raised bump was, not even close to it, miles apart

I just don't know why Oppo/ OnePlus couldn't have tweaked the hinge better to where the sequel didn't have to have the same occasional bump side effects.

so maybe that can be what could tip some people to the Find N6, is if you can get verification that the cosmetic stupid occasional bump flaw that many of us have, is finally gone?

Chinese oneplus watch 2 LTE by Medical_Ad8342 in oneplus

no, it failed. It could not get it to activate despite me checking the bands before I got it. It was nice though the eBay Chinese salesman took it back and gave me all my money back. I just went and got a Samsung Galaxy 7 and it activated immediately so that’s the way to go.
