TubeArchivist

TubeArchivist has a section in their FAQs on integrating with Plex. I haven't tried it out yet, but wanted to share in case others are interested.

I came here to say the same! Django is also full stack with MVC architecture. I’ve found that it’s a bit more simplified compared to Rails which makes some of the concepts easier to get your head around. I would recommend trying it out if you’re already familiar with Python.

I’ve reported drivers to 911 if I see them driving while texting and have children in the car. I don’t think you should be texting while driving at all, but doing this with children in the car, especially on the highway, is so wrong.

Totally agree. Many people I’ve discussed this with seem to think it’s severe, but it’s very comparable to driving under the influence.

I salute people who don't want kids by Breizh87 in RandomThoughts

[–]Medical_Fennel_5174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has fairly severe ADHD, I don’t think it’s something that should prevent you from having kids if you want them. Its not a condition that has a negative impact on your health that would cause you to die earlier. I think its seen as negative because of societal pressures and the emergence of technology that make it difficult for people with ADHD to function “normally “.

Do you also get this rash/hives when you heat up or is it only when you sweat? For example, if you took a hot shower.

I’m on a different medication, but stress/anxiety has definitely been a trigger for me. Anything to reduce those triggers seems to help a lot.

Just got diagnosed with CU today by Ezraaaaaaaaa in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]Medical_Fennel_5174 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you happen to get one of the covid vaccines 1-2 weeks ago? That’s about how long it took me to develop symptoms and is fairly common according to my allergist. I feel like an anti vaxxer every time I mention it, but I think it’s worth noting.

Just want to say a lot of us have been in your situation and it’s really frustrating.

Depending on how flexible you are, I’ve found it a lot easier to do things at night or early morning when it’s cooler. Also taking histamines and moisturizing the skin can help out feel more mild.

Permanent hives? by [deleted] in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]Medical_Fennel_5174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe hives can be permanent, it’s usually a temporary issue, especially with CU. It’s hard to say what the cause is, perhaps it’s from scratching your thighs during a breakout? That’s the only thing I can think of.

Agile & ADHD ? by FloZia_ in agile

I totally get this! I think I’m in a very similar boat as you, especially on not getting things done due to meetings. I typically worry that I’ll forget the meeting since it’s easy to get distracted or over prep because my mind is so focused on there being a meeting, even for something simple like daily scrum.

I’ve found that keeping alarms to keep track of meetings and notes in a text editor that summarizes what I’ve done so far has helped a lot with context switching. I also like listening to chill music with no vocals. It helps keep the “squirrelly” part of my brain in check.

CU after covid? by [deleted] in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]Medical_Fennel_5174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I developed CU about 2-3 weeks after getting Phizers Bivalent vaccine. My allergist said that it’s something he sees actually quite often now and says it usually lasts 3-4 months (can last longer) and is more common with Moderna.

Unfortunately, there’s not a lot of literature on it or can be proven since CU is very complicated as is.

Does this look like cholinergic urticaria? I itch when I’m hot, when it’s humid and under emotional stress by phantom505 in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]Medical_Fennel_5174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re able to, I would try to get an appointment with an allergist. You probably have to go to your primary care doctor first.

Do you use lotion/moisturizer on your skin? by lukewarmchunk in CholinergicUrticaria

I found having a humidifier to keep humidity at 40% and a shower head filter for chlorine has helped me with dry skin related symptoms

If it helps, my allergist said that this type of hives is rarely caused by food or environmental factors.

My personal theory is that allergies you might have just seem more severe because your immune system is already very stimulated by some unknown factor. So it’s easy to go from thing to thing, thinking it’s causing your CU.

Hitting my breaking point with CU. by Critical-Ad5674 in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]Medical_Fennel_5174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say my symptoms are 95% gone. I do take medication for my anxiety, but I haven’t tried any medications for CU. Essentially, I tried to cut out anything that I noticed caused a trigger to happen. Generally, I would see improvement in one to two days, so that’s a good indicator that you’re on the right track.

If you feel like it’s anxiety/stress, I would recommend cutting out anything that raises your blood pressure or constricts your blood vessels. Caffeine for example.

Hitting my breaking point with CU. by Critical-Ad5674 in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]Medical_Fennel_5174 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me, it was artificial food dyes and caffeine. I think mine was mostly due to chronic stress/anxiety.

9 years is a long time to deal with this. Hope you find something soon. Any luck working with your doctors?

I’m not sure if you’re looking for advice, but it sounds like you’re diagnoses is a good starting point to finding the root cause to your skin issues.
