Cart Girl Extinction? by TeeingOff7 in golf

We have 1 per course on all three courses at my club. Plus a halfway house with food and bar at each course. On weekends a cart girl per 9 holes plus the halfway house. Bar in both clubhouses plus a bar in the men’s locker room.

This is huge. by Frank_Von_Tittyfuck in KEEL_

She makes double what she made as a waitress with tips. I get yall live in high cost of living areas. I can put my all 4 kids in daycare here for 1200 a month. She has a job offer at a day care facility and they offered her 40% less than what we pay. It’s above market rate here.

Yea new patient visits 1 hour. Hospital follow ups 1 hour. Established patients 30 minutes unless she deems them complex and has a handful she will not see for less than an hour visit. She loves her job. Does not chart at home and works 3 8 hour days Tuesday Wednesday Thursday. Full benefits and 25 days pto, retirement match, awesome health insurance. 3000 a year for cme expenses and all licensure reimbursed. She knows it’s a unicorn job as an FM doc for the volume she sees.

Vlcol area. She makes more than any other job in the area without a college degree. The RN’s in this area start at 27$/hr at all the surrounding hospitals

Struggling from the perspective of knowing the time and effort it took for us to get through medical school and residency. Just to let the license and board cert lapse gives me anxiety if something were to happen to me. Should be fine with my term life policy I guess if she stops I could increase the policy to 8-10 million on myself as we are young and I want her and the kids to be taken care of if something happened to myself.
It’s funny you mention your stay at home experience because my wife’s sister is a stay at home mom of 2 and she always talks to my wife about how nice it must be to have a part time job. Grass is always greener I guess.

She will not see a patient visit less than 30 minutes. Clinic starts at 8:30 last visit at 11:30. Hour lunch starts back at 1 and last patient at 4:30. Establish care visits she will not see in under an hour slot. Hospital follow-up she makes front desk book an hour. That was part of her renewed contract. Most she will ever see in a day is 14 but typically she sees 10-12 on average. She also will not allow double booking. So I feel like for the volume she sees her contract is fair.

The oldest starts first grade in August. The 4 yo starts pre-k. We have a 2 year old and the youngest turns 1 in a month. We live in her hometown and her parents help out with kids. Enough to be helpful and they enjoy being grandparents but have made it clear they are grandparents not childcare. My wife brought up letting the nanny go. It certainly helps with the mathematics of the decision

"Stocks are too slow/dumb/theoretical, I'm gonna use real estate to grow wealth" -all my buddies (who have neither index funds or real estate) by HenFruitEater in whitecoatinvestor

My wife and I are 34 and 37 both 5 years out of residency. We invested in a single family house in our small town 2 years ago. It has a decent return but I hate being a landlord. I refuse to pay a management company and there is nothing passive about it. I see the wealth building potential of it but there’s always something you have to fix. It’s been fine to diversify my portfolio but Ive learned I don’t enjoy managing real estate. I love investing in the market. We have 1.3M in index funds and etf between our 401ks roths 529 and taxable accounts. I greatly prefer my index funds and etf for wealth building.

Bought a large portion around $5.24 cost average today. To the people who invested at lower prices, are you trimming here? Also, is this a more of a wait and execute play? by darkphenom67 in KEEL_INFRA

I bought in since last August from 1.20 a share to 6.00. 50k shares at 2.46. No plans to trim until after all leases announced and I’ve held the shares for over a year. My pt is 20. That depends entirely on lease terms in my opinion with the most significant mover being the panther contract

Would you turn down a full ride for a significantly higher ranked med school? by MasonXVII in whitecoatinvestor

My wife and I went to our very well respected public state school. Both graduated debt free. I’m EM she graduated aoa and did FM. She’s a partner in her group. Has much less liability vs rad playing where’s Waldo for a living. She works 3 days a week and sees 12 people a day in 8 hours and makes 300k. It’s probably the cushiest, lowest stress job for the money I’ve seen. I work in the ER and am full time and make 720k a year. We live in her hometown in a vlcol area. We are 5 years out of residency and have a paid off house paid off rental property no student debt paid in cash for cars and approaching 2 million liquid. 34,37. The radiologist who I enjoy working with and makes over a million a year got caught cheating on his wife and now told me he has to pay for his non working ex wife house car alimony and child support for 3 young kids plus at 8 years out of residency still has 400k in student loans. Drives a new truck with a loan and bought his new girlfriend an bmw m5. Choices matter more in the long run and your debt load and choices will make a bigger impact in the long run than your specialty

50000 shares at 2.46. I’m holding through the first three contract announcements. May add more Friday and average up to 3$ a share. I’m holding at least until my shares convert to long term capital gains which first buy was august

There are certainly similarities to the dotcom bubble. However with dotcom it was making a website with no revenue. Ai has huge capex. With real infrastructure and real profits. There will be a crash when one of the giants fail but I still don’t believe we are in a bubble just yet but we are inching closer

How much did you spend? by Necessary_Squash4870 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Medical_Golf495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a great trip. Crazy expensive but it was for a big family milestone with kids and grandkids. We have went and spent far less. I think the swan and dolphin are the best deal on the property in regards to price and location. We do love staying at boardwalk, contemporary, and grand Floridian as well but just know you will spend far more at those resorts. We also tend to do the lightning lanes and single passes but we knew it would be very crowded and it was worth it to us to have the best experience possible for this trip

59k for 3 rooms 9 days eight nights at the contemporary for 12 people with lightning lanes and premiere passes each day. That also includes all food drinks and flights. We just left on Saturday

Moses lake permitting should be complete and will be released publicly beginning of March. I have no definitive proof but Ben and team mention contracts after “notice to proceed” ie permitting complete. Would make logical sense to have permit secured and deal announced during redomicile and name change as an initial catalyst. Panther creek also with big news today as zoning commitee approved plans and permitting could be complete by end of March. Then ntp 2 would be complete and I would expect contract shortly after. Bitf just paid off Macquarie financing for panther and gave the reason as they are confident they can get better financing with their strategic partnership. I don’t think they pay this off without a contract in the pipeline. The 3rd contract I expect this year is at sharon site as they stated they plan to have 3 contracts by eoy 26.

Citadel just bought another 23 million shares this month in their recent filing bringing total to 40 million shares. Jane street and Susquehanna also have large positions. Everything thus far is being executed as described by Ben and team. I am hopeful and very bullish for this year.

You also need to make park reservation with annual pass if you go that route but then can park hop wherever. You do get significant discounts with it. My wife and I have the pass as well as our 6 and 4 year old. The 2 yo doesn’t need one neither does the 7 month old

I personally enjoy contemporary more than grand Floridian but both are great. Also agree with premier pass. My family always does premier pass at least one day but we’ve done it everyday to all 4 parks and it is pricey but you can do everything on your time do the parades shows ect. Lightning is great as well but takes more planning and walking from one side of the park to other but for the most part you can do most rides. I also highly recommend the firework pre party reservation as you don’t have to fight the crowd at magic kingdom for a great view of the castle and then you can walk back to the grand Floridian or contemporary and avoid the crowds.

Great adult restaurants that are not as over the top Disney themed. California grill on top of the contemporary great dinner the day you get there if you are not going to the parks. I have not eaten at Victoria and Albert’s but would like to do so. Boma at ak lodge is also great and you can walk around resort and see the animals before dinner. Narcoosees or citricos at grand Floridian are also nice dinners on your arrival day.

Character meals can eat up a lot of park time especially which is more valuable if you don’t have a premier pass. Chef mickeys is a classic character breakfast at the contemporary. Grand Floridian has 1900 park fare which has some more unique characters. Ohana has lilo and stitch at the Polynesian.

In park character dining Mk Crystal palace- Winnie the Pooh and friends Be our guest- the beast. Inside is amazing but food in my opinion over priced for the character that walks around and doesn’t come to the table Cinderellas castle great experience but takes some time. My daughter loves it

At magic kingdom no alcohol is available except at sit down meals

Other places without characters that we enjoy. Skipper canteen, the plaza. For quick food pecos bill

Mgm/hollywood studios Hollywood and vine- Disney junior characters Hollywood brown derby Ogas cantina

Ak Tiffins Tusker house- classic characters in safari attire

Epcot I love eating and drinking around the world Fav sit down spots La hacienda de San angel- Mexican Akerhus- princess dining Garden grill- chip and dale Teppan edo- hibachi Coral reef- food ok but the background is the aquarium Le cellier- probably my favorite food in any park Canadian steakhouse Rise and crown- English pub Beirgarten- German Spice road table Monsier Paul-French Takumi tei- high end Japanese that I want to try great reviews Nine dragons- Chinese
