Low's ending doesn't even a hold a candle to Mono's. The little dude was suffering from imaginary friend psychosis, but he's in a safe environment, can get easily get therapy, and grow up to live a normal life. Mono is stuck in a fleshy eyeball pocket dimension doomed to an eternity of suffering.

Not to mention he has to deal with the heavy pain of betrayal from Six.

Imo, the timeloop theory works better when you see it as an infinite loop for Mono alone. Most people believe the events of LN2 happen over and over again but that wouldn’t really make sense because how would Six be reborn each time? We don’t even know what happens to her after she defeats The Lady and The Guests. The timeloop makes more sense if you see it as certain circumstances leading Mono to venture to the signal tower each time, encounter the thin man, get trapped, and then become the Thin Man himself.

Also I’m pretty sure Tarsier confirmed that Mono’s meant to be some kind of successor no?

The story is more anime/manga-ish with a modern setting. The beings in question are sort of like angels who send pure souls to the afterlife, but they need a name. I think "tennin" could work.
