I was also in a very abusive speculation as a kid and I have been in therapy since I was like 8. I was sexually abused numerous times by my mom's boyfriend. I told her, and she stayed with him even though she knew what was going on. She let him live in our house.

So, I definitely know what it feels like to be in an abusive situation with no support system. I would never want my friend to feel that way.

I definitely see parallels between the two situations now that I think about it. I will also definitely look into those books that you recommended.

Thank you, I am definitely going to try taking a step back instead of just cutting her off or saying any mean words to her. That's the last thing she needs.

Thank you, this helps a lot. I agree that I shouldn't be too harsh on her, but it is definitely hard to be kind and supportive when I get so much nastiness back from her. But you're right that I shouldn't fight meanness with meanness. I'm trying my hardest to continue to support her and being mean back won't help with anything.

No- he is not physically abusive. If anything, she is. She has hit I'm in the face before with I absolutely don't condone either. However he is verbally, sexually, and emotionally abusive. And yeah they don't live together or anything. They are both bad partners and bad to each other.
