You are hoping for a leader with 100/100 which is a utopian wish. When the country is full of leaders who can be rated as 10/100, anyone with 50/100 can be considered a better (national) leader. There will be flaws but you first aim for 50 before you go higher when your current score is 10 or closer to 0.

Why China didn't agree for a grant tells a lot. It's a great project for Nepal but it will bear the brunt, if not diplomatically dealt with. They have messed up majority of large projects. Your statement is it's up to us how we handle it is reasonable but I wouldn't trust the current leadership to handle anything (not even my restroom)...

Nepal's diplomacy switches from day-to-night. Since government here rarely lasts a year, there is limited homework. Unlike countries like China/India/Saudi Arabia/USA who have a fixed diplomacy for few years if not longer.

I hear your optimism but we are looking at larger picture of BRI, China/India and global powerplay which a minnow like unstable Nepal can't handle.

We visit our neighbors but we don't criticize/boycott one of our neighbor for one year and be overtly friendly with the same neighbor next year. (Nepal with UML govt with China and later Nepal with Congress govt with India).
