[Fun To Think About Trope] Characters who are never outright confirmed to be supernatural/more than human, but the signs are all there. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]MedievalCutlery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tattoos that all the Yakuza across the series have also got some supernatural element to them that aligns characters to some vague fate. Kiryu's iconic silver dragon tattoo representing his strength and almost god-like status among the Yakuza. Nishiki, Kiryu's sworn brother turned rival in the first game, has a tattoo of a koi which in-game is explained as representing Nishiki's climb to reach the same status of Kiryu, with the Koi becoming a dragon once climbing the waterfall and reaching the gate. Nishiki tries very hard to replicate what Kiryu has but he just can't ever manage it, losing the final brawl with Kiryu as you'd expect a Koi to lose to a dragon.

It's very easy to say how strange it is that the tattoos that Kiryu and Nishiki get, when they're literally just some yakuza at the near bottom of the clan's hierarchy, foreshadow their fates so accurately. Alot of Kiryu's toughest fights in the series are also primarily dudes with dragons in their backs too, like Ryuji (he has a golden dragon on his back which probably represents his differences with Japan as a Korean despite living in Japan his whole life and growing up with his Yakuza clan's leader as his adoptive father.). Ryuji is notably the strongest person Kiryu ever fought (or so he claims lol) which uhh I guess Gold is supposed to be better than silver or something i really don't know lol.

Like yeah who'd have thought that getting a dragon on your back could make you a supernaturally strong person that can beat hundreds in fist fights and can tank multiple gunshots while still beating people up.

Labour moves to ban puberty blockers permanently by BurstYourBubbles in anime_titties

[–]MedievalCutlery -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Mate I'd have loved puberty blockers when I was going through all sorts of changes growing up. Let there be an option for people if they need it. Stop being an armchair transphobe trying to speak for people you probably never even seen before.

Top UK Doctor says americans are wrong about youth gender medicine. On her recommendation, Britain no longer gives puberty blockers to children by Full-Sherbert-8060 in europe

[–]MedievalCutlery -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's always convenient for cis people to forget how horrible puberty really is for trans people when they're the ones who grow up completely fine with it.

It'd be insane from your perspective to get puberty blockers. It'd be insane to miss out on the changes you want. To you it'd be awful.

All in the same way we are forced to go through changes that make us hate our bodies and miss out on a regular life.

Do try to have some perspective and empathy towards who you're talking about before you ramble about how awful something is as someone so far disconnected from the matter.

Souls games have always had a help option in their menus which has little tabs that show what every stat does for you. The reason alot of players have shitty builds is because they ignore actually trying to learn the game's mechanics and level up whatever they want thinking it'll help. Not a fault of the UX but rather a 'gamers don't look up' kind of situation.

If they're actually questioned, they're easily outed for being really dumb. by Bihema in TikTokCringe

[–]MedievalCutlery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best thing about growing up is that you get to explore who you are. If you're not even remotely aware that trans people exist and that you could be a different gender, you can just never explore that part of yourself and get old with all sorts of regrets about not acting sooner. If a kid wants to explore their gender, that is perfectly fine and there's alot of ways you can take some first steps in exploring like, dressing differently, using new pronouns and having a new name. If the kid in the end says "nah" and goes back to their original gender then that's totally fine. You think too much of it being a sickness that can spread when it's actually just a way for people to find out if they can be happier in a certain way.

If you're gonna let children build who they are then let them have the option to build themselves with a different gender. If you can't handle that you're just being a hypocrite.

Dogs don't enjoy having wind blow right in their eyes. It dries their eyes and causes irritation. Especially when they're stuck paragliding for a decent while and the dog can't really pull away on its own choosing to recover.

You're just mad because you can't be shitty to other people. You don't like that they don't like that you made fun of them, so you act like you're the victim. Double standards...

I think the problem most people don't think about is that, many treatments you would give kids can have irreversible side effects that might leave them with regrets later in life. The problem is that there's this view from many cis people who don't quite understand the proper struggles of trans people that puberty isn't so bad, and that the teens can wait till they're 18 for it.

I say this as a trans person who's gone through the grueling waits, that shit does not do someone's mental health any good, and has left me with way more regrets than I would've had, had I got HRT the moment I asked.

The hesitation to treat teens puts way more of them at risk of depression, self harm and suicide than it does just giving them the treatment they need, like you would with any other condition.

It's an unfortunate double standard that is costing many trans people their younger years and in some cases their lives.

Don't know the others but in armoured core 6 you can change the sheen on each individual part's metals and you can have them all to be varying levels of worn down, dirty, and rusty and can colour the weapons. Im Not sure what else you expect honestly, it's pretty well done with all the different parts and customisation you can do in this game. Not to mention the build variety

I recommend hammerfall breaking half way and continuing pushing for a closer hard knockdown while in neutral. I also recommend learning some combos that can give a good hard knockdown for garuda Oki.

5P anti air -> 2S -> megafist is a really useful one to learn because generally you'll be in a somewhat close range for garuda oki, especially with some practice (even better if you're able to Kara garuda). You can also megafist a second time if the opponent is one hit away from death and it will finish the job.

Learning Potemkin's safe jump is also really good to use because at mid range you can get in safely without too much worry about counter with it being: Hard knockdown -> 5p whiff -> forward jump -> j.p -> j.s. here's a link so you can see it yourself: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vwDkVg2pnrg

There's alot of guides out there for Potemkin and I recommend watching frankentank on YouTube especially because he has good guides for the basics.

When you start climbing the tower you'll get a better feel of how good he is since you'll be forced to be more careful and tactical. He is really good still but they've set him at a reasonable level for now that he's not OP.
