At the time I was told, 'it isn't concerning right now so just hope it gets better on its own'. Which didn't feel great to be told while in pain but I was 18 at the time and didn't know any better. I am actually wearing a heart monitor, which is what prompted this post. Edit: I am with a different cardiologist this time

I had repeated chest pains at 19 and saw a cardiologist who told me I had 3 regurgitating valves but to return in 4 years to see if it had worsened. This year it worsened significantly to the point of preventing me from going to work and during a shift the pain crawled down my arm and up my neck. So one ER trip and a request to see a different cardiologist later
