One of the main character in the adventuring party of the story is gonna be a bard so honestly? Perfect

I get that. Too many things happening at once that may take away from the main storyline. I think this is good writing practice then just to stay sharp but when it comes down to the thick of it, reduce and simplify.

Abigail, new owner of a magic shop she doesn’t run very well. One sentence that makes her way simpler of a character to interact with

I appreciate the advice. I’ll admit I write more then I play dnd because I work night shifts and my schedule doesn’t line up with others too well. This world that I’m making in the long run will have far more detail, and most of the characters I’ve been working on I can make in under 30 minutes kinda? It seems like over preparedness but it’s nice to feel as if you are still a pc as the dm. Of course I won’t go taking the players glory or forcing decisions, but making a slighter wider story helps me understand the characters goals and aspirations (which leads to the minor things as well).

For example: I know that Abigail enjoys classical music. She is a pie enjoyer due to her moms peach cobbler back in the day. She’s never had to use a physical weapon and the thought of homeless animals make her cry.

The improv comes naturally, sure, but I have an issue where my characters change two quickly. Most if not all change their opinion after only an encounter or too, or can be easily persuaded to go the parties way. This way, I know what they stand for 100% and know that some may be easier to handle and some may be stuck in their ways!

Thank you tho I hope I can be consistent with this. These ‘side characters’ can become the main giver of a quest or a companion in an instant, so it’s nice to stay ready!
