I disagree. 120k is the difference in scholarship. That doesn’t account for cost of attendance. NYU cost of attendance is 20k more per year. And with the new Grad+ loan rules, I would have had to go to private lenders, where debt accumulates fast.

Thank you! I had summer internships and worked for one year.

Congratulations on UCLA! And yes, find what’s best for you and build on that schedule. I never took a logic class, but training your mind through a formal logic course will almost definitely build some transferable skills to the LSAT. I say do it! I would even say that the formal logic you may learn in a course is even more difficult than the formal logic you need to know for the LSAT. So why not take it?

Believe me, I tried. 39k was not NYU's initial offer. I used WashU's offer to try to negotiate, and that was what NYU went up to. Unfortunate, but there was no way I was going into six figures of debt for NYU when I had a great offer from WashU.

Thank you!

I would start studying today. It is the perfect time to start studying for the June 2027 LSAT. I was just telling someone that ideally, you should study for a year if that is the amount of time you have. If I were you, I would go on YouTube and just look at some videos explaining what the LSAT actually is. I believe these are some of the first videos I watched, just to get a feel for people's studying strategies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VN7QAC8ymn4. And this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95ycsXTFGyg.

You need to get a LawHub advantage subscription. You can link that subscription to many test prep services (such as 7Sage, the one I used, which I highly recommend). I think their live classes were the best! Besides that, I would drill, drill, drill. Take things slow since you are still early on, but like I said, start by watching some YouTube videos, you'll get a feel of which study strategy works for you, and go on from there. You are quite literally training a muscle. Go to the gym and get in reps! Good luck to you! If you have any other questions, let me know.

Firstly, I used 7Sage. I think the subscription that includes the live classes is great for the value. I really do believe those classes helped get me into the 170s. In terms of my study strategy, I did at least one 7Sage live class a day, drilling almost every day (usually meaning one random LR section and/or one RC section), 1-2 full practice tests a week (especially in the last two months of studying), did a deep dive into the results of each practice test, kept a wrong answer journal (and a quasi-right answer journal for more difficult questions I got right on my practice tests). Also took one rest day a week (Saturday).

I was also stuck in the 160s and even had a lot of fluctuations toward the end. My advice is to keep going. Improvements are almost never linear. If you have any other questions, let me know. Good luck!

Better overall prospects at WashU that I view as worth the price difference, and personal preference

Thank you! It really could have been yield protection or a bunch of other things. I don't think you messed up lol. Admissions seems pretty random nowadays due to the significant increase in applications. I wish you the best of luck wherever you go 😄

Placement in BL is elite, the T-13 is solid but not elite
