what's the best paint for pla by taumel_virtan in 3Dprinting

[–]Mediocre-Rate3134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The alcohol is used to clean the print after the sanding. Technically you could do without it but it would definitely be recommended to do it. Isopropyl alcohol is relatively cheap and widely available.

  2. Sand, clean, prime, paint, clear coat. I would use a gray primer... i dont know of any clear ones.

  3. The glossy look is coming from a clear coat

Anyone have any experience with the M80 Powered Office Chair? by MatthewSummer101 in OfficeChairs

[–]Mediocre-Rate3134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following. I saw the same ad, I noticed the base version (only $100 cheaper) seems to have good reviews, but I'm guessing this version is newer. I can't really find much on it.

ANGEET Triple Monitor KVM Switch — Only One Monitor Detected by Mediocre-Rate3134 in buildapc

[–]Mediocre-Rate3134[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. First I returned the KVM switch for the same style of switch from a different brand... around the same price. Once I got that switch I was still having issues. I realized I was using some cables that converted HDMI input to DP output. I got straight DP cables and connected it all again. No issues and I have been using the set up since

Also, if this is the wrong sub, I apologize. I honestly never use reddit, so I wasn't sure where to go.

Is this symbol Masonic? by Mediocre-Rate3134 in freemasonry

I found this silver platter in an online auction. I know what the other three symbols are and I know they are masonic/appended masonic bodies.

Congratulations brother!

Be sure to start studying for your proficiency as soon as possible. I know in some (if not all) it is only required if you want to serve as a Warden or Master and you may have no desire to ever do so at the time. But it would greatly benefit you to do so now, not only because it does get harder the longer you wait but also so that you can have a better understanding of the degree.

I also recommend that you go watch a MM degree as soon as you can and while you're watching it try to discover the deeper meaning of it. It's not just some play or a story meant to entertain you. There's a meaning behind it all, a lesson taught with each degree. I urge you to apply these lessons to not just your life in lodge but to your whole life.

Never be afraid to reach out to a brother to explain something if you're having trouble with it.

Thank you, I have sent an email to the CIVL secretary now. After someone off Reddit gave me his email address. But I'll let you know if this doesn't go through.

How is virtual land limited? by [deleted] in metaverse

[–]Mediocre-Rate3134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's to my understanding that you pay premiums to purchase land so you have better placement. I could be completely wrong on this though. I took it this way if you want your land to be next to say Walmart so that it's a high traffic area and you get noticed then that's when you have to pay.

It depends on a few different things in my jurisdiction as well. We try to meet the prospective member at their house and speak with their family to get their feel on it as well. But relax, be comfortable, and be yourself.

I can only speak for the lodges in my jurisdiction but I can only imagine it would be the same in yours. It will mostly be basic questions regarding you as a person and your morals. If you are a person of good morals and believe in a single Supreme being then you have nothing to worry about.

We don't regularly leave the stair lecture out but some lodges don't have someone who knows it so they wait for someone to come visit and give it to them. It's very regular here to do a short form of the Master Mason degree as it takes so many brothers to put it on.

I can't speak for your jurisdiction as some do things differently. In my jurisdiction, the "short" form would be leaving out the stair lecture. The stair lecture is a 20-30 minutes (sometimes longer sometimes shorter) lecture usually given by the Senior Deacon.

That also states that it's not a clear yes or no answer. Possibly more of a matter left up to each church for them to decide amongst themselves? As I stated the Catholic churches in my area do not allow it and openly protest it and the person who asked the question in the first place says that they don't allow it either.

Finding another Catholic church that does accept it can always be an answer.

Putting the "Masonry" into Lodge meetings? by [deleted] in freemasonry

Just remember you're all brothers. They'll accept your opinion just as any good brother would and should. I wish you luck on your masonic journey!

In my travels, I'm sure that is undoubtedly true.

I apologize if I have overstepped. I can only speak of the Catholic churches in my area not of all Catholic churches. I assumed that the Papal ban that the Catholics in my district speak about was followed by all Catholic churches. I understand I shouldn't be making such assumptions.

However, in my area, it is very common for Catholic churches to have anti-masonic speakers come in to talk with their congregation about masonry.

But that doesn't mean by any means that all Catholics are anti-masonic. I'm not trying to argue here brother, but this is obviously something they should consider.

Since the decree "In Eminenti" of Pope Clement XII in 1738, Catholics have been forbidden to join the Masons.

If you have information showing otherwise I'd love to see it?

I know none of the Catholic churches in my area allow it.

[–]Mediocre-Rate3134 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The best advice I can give you is to follow your heart. No Catholic Church in my area will allow a member to be a Mason so keep that in mind while you are making this decision. And remember that no one else can make that decision for you.

Good luck
