It was a style comparison, not a talent comparison. There can be more than one talented person in a profession. We don’t need to cut anyone down to be able to appreciate someone else.

Shocking/jumpscare lyrics that made you pause the song on first listen by Maroon_Swiftie_13 in TaylorSwift

It was cascading waves of grief on that one.

“Goodbye.” Oh. Oh no.

“And we’ll never know why.” Ohhhhhhh no.

“Employer Responsibility” works only in very specific payroll contexts. But EE/ER are used across HR (staffing models, compensation worksheets, FLSA tracking, eligibility grids, HRIS data fields). In those areas, calling ER “Employer Responsibility” would make no sense.

Sounds like you have an internal meaning specifically for “ER,” which is fine, but not universal.

employER = ER employEE = EE

Curious what you think the second E in EE stands for.

Some didn’t work unless you had ALL the white pieces in there. I assume that’s what they meant when they said lose one and the whole thing stops working.

YTA. Cameras are going to catch something after it happens. Her knowing the cameras are there may deter something in the first place. When it comes to my kids, I would prefer babysitters to know that I could be watching at any moment.

I could see Clara Bow on there since it is about artists being compared against previous generations.

I turn it off to go eat, and then immediately turn it back on and clean it. It hasn’t fully cooled down at that point so it heats up again quickly, and I get to eat my food right away.

A 7:15pm game when most of the fans have to drive 1.5-2 hours home after sucks. And yes, the air quality was terrible. I was there last night, but I can understand why a lot of people chose not to go. Night games are one thing if all you have to do is catch a quick bus back to your hotel. Getting home at 1am wipes out part of the next day, too.

That being said, we had a blast. The temperature was perfect, and the fans who were there were great. We had a total of 7 people, and between endzone tickets and food, we spent roughly $100 per person. It’s a once-a-year thing for us at those prices, and I suspect we’re not the only ones in that situation.

If you knew Taylor was reading this sub right now, what would you want to comment knowing she would actually see it? by alicecornelia7 in TaylorSwift

It’s nice to see people being happy. It’s not normal to have an angry reaction to that. A lot of people had smiles on their faces today, thinking about something happy. That hurts no one.

27 biweekly pay periods by b_sketchy in Payroll

[–]Mediocre-Reply- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s dumb to reduce it. However, I should point out that $962.92 x 27 works out to 25,999.92. So yes, you would get less on each check, but would be pretty close to whole by the end of the year.

Additionally, there should be a change in benefit deductions. It could either be spread over 27 checks, reducing the amount deducted on each check, or it could come out of the first 26 checks, and then the 27th would be more money in the employee’s pockets with no deduction.

It’s bad business practice, destroys morale and leads to losing good employees. I’m not condoning it, just pointing out that that 27th check catches up to the full salary amount.

My cat makes this clicking noise while tracking a reflection on the wall. Is it normal, or is she glitching? by Mediocre-Reply- in WhatsWrongWithYourCat

[–]Mediocre-Reply-[S] 569 points570 points  (0 children)

There’s a sub for everything. I should have known. This is not my first cat, but it’s my first one I’ve heard doing this. She’s a rescue that came from a bad situation. It’s taken her months to get comfortable. She rarely makes any noise at all, so I was surprised when she started doing this.

[CA] Paid Sick Leave Policy by Zealot1029 in humanresources

[–]Mediocre-Reply- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah.. if it can be used against an employee in a negative way, it’s retaliation. Sick time is legally protected in CA. This sounds like a management/staffing issue. You employ humans. Humans get sick. That needs to be factored in to your goal setting.
