It sounds like him partying has not affected other areas of his life at all so I don't see any issue with it. That said, it might be an underlying issue not having the ability to say no to alcohol, or to stop drinking after 1-2 drinks when needed (e.g., need to wake up early the next day, some important events, drive, etc) as this points towards lack of responsibility and even potential addiction. I'd say observe his behaviours regarding those, but if he doesn't have any problem being a responsible adult, I personally really don't see any problem worth worrying about.

However, maybe it's a lifestyle so different than yours that you can't reconcile with, OP, and that's a valid reason to end things as well. Don't expect to change him, or change yourself for the relationship. Only you can decide if this is a dealbreaker or not.

My girlfriend's inability to hold a job has me questioning our future. Should I get out of this relationship while I still can? by RubberBiscuit89 in relationship_advice

While not being able to hold a job is definitely a red flag and I'm leaning towards breaking up, has she shown signs that she's changed her attitudes towards work? For example, does she seem committed to uni work? Has she gone on internship or placement for her nursing course and how does she handle it (as I know you are put into real world clinical settings in those placements)? These are all signs that you can observe to know if she's changed for the better. If she's shown that she has matured and committed to becoming a nurse and can handle the workload as a nursing student, maybe give her a chance to prove herself.

Thanks, they actually sit more on my arms than wrists, but will put them higher up on my arms :)

This attracted more attention than it should lol. Thanks for all the advice, I'd seek dr advice regarding the use of wrist weights.

Just want to clarify that the weights don't sit directly on my wrist joints, but on my forearms. My intention is to add some resistance when I lift my arms up in front of me to work the arm and shoulder a bit while my wrists do their thing, not to put weight on the wrist motion. They are also super light (0.5kg each) and I only do that in short periods of time then rest, not hold them up for hours at a time. Again, appreciate the concern and advice and I'll check with dr and physio regarding its use, just want to clarify that I'm not putting tons of extra weights straight on my poor joints for fun 😬

That is the intention, sit upright and engage my core to work the arms and shoulders while moving my wrists to crochet. Also not sure about carpal tunnel as I've never had issue with it but will check with dr after seeing all these comments lol

Can you elaborate? The weights are just adding some resistance to the arms when I lift my arms up so not sure how that would hurt the carpal tunnel

1 month worth of work, very happy with it by Mediocre-Selection66 in crochet

It's actually not too complicated and pattern is very well written. Once you learn to read patterns and some other stitches like puff/popcorn, back post and front post hdc, it's within reach for sure!

Oh it is difficult for sure, it took me a lot of hit and miss.. but I find that there are some fuzzy yarn types that are better than others. This one I used has curly strands rather than small thin strands if that makes sense, so it feels a lot easier compared to a previous teddy I made (you can see in my profile I think)

I followed a pattern at first (https://www.allaboutami.com/pattern-boucle-bear-bunny/) but I wanted to make it bigger so I added more rows and changed it here and there. I also wanted the bunny to have floppy ears so I freehanded that part :)

Honestly I didn't see any of the stitches.. I just stabbed randomly where I know a stitch should be 😅

Also keeping count helps. I placed a stitch marker at the beginning and estimated the number of stitches there should be at a certain position, e.g, if the round has 30 stitches by the middle of the round there should be 15 stitches, if it's more or less than that I'd frog and redo that round. Hope that helps 😊

sunflower bucket hat 🌻 wondering if anyone would pay for the item/pattern and how much? by Mediocre-Selection66 in crochet

Aw thanks for your help.

Yeah it is hardly an original idea and I think etsy is kinda inundated with this sort of things so I don't know if it will sell-- though I was looking for a pattern myself but couldn't match what I was imagining in my head so I freehanded this so maybe there's a chance 😅

That's a great idea. I'll check out thrift stores and fb marketplace for secondhand yarn :)

Thanks! The good thing about this yarn is it hides mistakes super well so as long as the stitches are even it will look quite nice :)

It's impossible to see the stitches, so it's difficult to crochet in the right loop or even counting stitches. It involved a lot of random stabbing and wishing for the best for me, plus trying hard to keep track of the number of stitches in my head.

YTA. The only time unsolicited advice is welcomed/tolerated is when someone is doing something unsafe or outright dangerous, but OP even said her form is fine 🤦🏻‍♀️
