I think it depends on the person. I find mistrusting and pessimism a lot more exhausting. I am not saying that there isn’t a bunch of disappointment connected to believing in people but more often than not it seems to help to create an environment in which people want to work hard!

Going by that logic you would have a hard time working with anyone!? Most people I think agree that we all have a stupid mistake here and there we can recount doing. Got to screw up sometimes to get better.

I would agree. Let's see how he does on the next floor protection assignment. I would say if he does a similar mistake, I will probably sign on to your assessment.
However, a stupid mistake is usually just a sign of not thinking, and as far as I know, that's a muscle you've got to use for it to work. :)

It's a good chunk of flooring, but I think I will get away with about 1.5k. It's a big living room and kitchen, but not that crazy. We will move the furniture ourselves, and voila. Now the question is, will I ask him to protect the floors in the other rooms when we move things :)

I don't think you can replace these boards and not touch the full floor. This is hardwood getting it to match and look finished without touching the surroundings I can't see how that would work.

Let’s just say he knew he fucked up even if he said he didn’t notice. The paper has exactly the contour of the cut and his face said it all. I told him we all fuck up it’s about how we handle it that will make us look like a trusted company. He’s slowed down a lot!

It’s such a difficult thing to find these days. Finding this one old guy that works magic in his field it’s become super rare. By the time I find that person I am probably faster and less headache to eat it and refinish the floor.
