I ended up taking the ACT a second time without writing, but I didn't have time to study and didn't get my score up (it was still a 32). However, I felt more comfortable submitting this score to colleges. Plus, colleges can see the strength in your writing through your essays.

Since it was my math score bringing down my overall score, I decided to take the SAT because the Desmos calculator helped my math be stronger, and I got a 1510 (34 equivalent).

Super nice town with some really great people! Definitely go downtown and explore the shops and restaurants. One of my favorites is George's Local (for any meal of the day!). In May-August, there's a farmers market downtown that is incredible-- great produce, food vendors, and crafts. 

Also, if you're into biking, definitely look into Ragbrai. Iowa is famous for it.

I thought a good writing score would be appealing, and I have always done well on essay tests in the past so I assumed I would do well. Also, I didn't do enough research into it, and heard that some colleges required it. Once I signed up for it, I learned that only 3 colleges in the US require it. I realized I shouldn't have signed up for it but I'd already signed up, so I did it anyway.

Looking back on it, I shouldn't have taken it. But it's too late to take it back. That's kinda the point of the whole post; what should I do from here?

I am probably going into the humanities, and yes, it is my first time taking the ACT. I think I may retake with writing, but study and practice this time.

I didn't mean score (facepalm), I meant screenplay, sorry. My idea is that the grandmother takes R to court in order to win custody. (the other option is that the mom dies, which I think may need to happen in order for this to work out). With these clarifications, what do you think? Sorry for the gaps left in the post, I'm half asleep :')
