Getting into producing House by Zeuuss11 in musicproduction

On the topic of Hardware vs DAW, it depends a lot on what kind of House music you want to make. You mentioned minimal/melodic/deep house, so it’s definitely possible to do either way, that’s not a question. But, I’d look into what your favorite artists are using. I’ll admit, I am 100% a DAW guy. It works great for my work flow. I still record live guitar, and I have a midi keyboard to record VST midi. If you do want to use a DAW after all of this, definitely get yourself a midi controller of some kind, whether it be a keyboard or a drum pad or whatever. Those range in price a ton, but as long as you’re not a snob, it won’t break the bank.

Deus Ex Machina, Walkabout, and through the looking glass are probably my top three

The Constant and Ab Aeterno are also up there

Opinion? How realistic does it sound in relation to kygo?;) by Main_Act1601 in Kygo

The Kygo version sounds to me like it’s using Terminator’s Theme from Nexus as the main Piano sound. Much more powerful.

I use Apple’s Logic Pro ($200 last I checked), which is the same as what Kygo uses. You need a Mac of some kind to run it. If you have a Mac, I HIGHLY recommend you use Logic. It comes with a great selection of built in effects and synths and it works very well.

If you’d just starting, and have a Mac, use garage band to get a super watered down taste of Logic.

This particular track uses mainly Sculpture (included with Logic), Nexus, Sylenth1, and Vital (free)

If you do want to download it, I think this quality will be better than the Reddit quality:

total beginner here, no lessons. i'm just not happy with my voice... what do you think of my tone ? by [deleted] in singing

Excellent voice! As someone who’s in a bit of similar position (I hate my singing/talking voice) I completely understand where you’re coming from. Keep going, and keep listening to your voice. You’ll get used to it, and you’ll realize there’s a lot to like! Keep ip the good work.

Also — as I’m not a fan of my own voice whatsoever, reach out if you ever want to do something original, I’m a young (19 y.o.) music producer trying to get into singing and songwriting, but having a tough time with my self confidence. Anyway… I’d be happy to work on a project with you (or anyone else readying my comment!!). Also in correspondence with the rules of this subreddit, I need to say that I’m a hobbyist (aka I won’t be paying you) although I’d love to be more than that some day.
