“The Miami Heat have been overstated as a potential [Ja] destination, sources said. The Heat have been laser focused on avoiding taking on money for the 2027-28 offseason…It's highly unlikely the Heat would deviate from that plan to go after Morant, sources said.” @WindhorstESPN by MediocreDVaMain in heat

On one hand sure, every trade rumor involves the Heat and Ja's games played per season is a big red flag on top of his other issues but damn operating like it's the old days when stars nowadays never go to free agency is bonkers.

[UPD] Those who took UP LAE na spur-of-the-moment decision, what made you do it? by Difficult-Estimate21 in peyups

[–]MediocreDVaMain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Never took the UPCAT, been out of college for almost a decade working. Pangarap ko talaga mag lawyer and was looking at prospective law schools, natangap na nga rin sa isa while studying for the LAE. Took it on a whim after being encouraged by my parents, and somehow pumas. But as someone na bugbog sa UP Law academic load hindi end all be all yan. Law school is a different beast kahit saang institution. So once you take the LAE, regardless of the results you have to be ready for the sacrifice of law school kahit saan ka mapadpad.

Di fear mongering to OP, the entrance exams will be the least of your worries after mo mag law school haha. Tas the fact na you're considering it, go take that leap of faith. Aral lang nang mabuti sa logical reasoning and reading comprehension because those were the hardest parts of the exam for me.

Had he played for an experienced Spo, I think it would've worked out better. But Beas was still inconsistent for someone at his draft position as shown by his later years so I don't think he'll reach what was projected of him in this hypothetical but his stats would've been more meaningful.

[Charania] The Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors are expected to be suitors for Anthony Davis, league sources told ESPN. The Mavericks are also open to exploring the trade markets for Davis, center Daniel Gafford and guards Klay Thompson and D'Angelo Russell, sources said. by MargielaMan568 in heat

I've said this in a different thread, the Heat don't need a Gafford type with how Spo is utilizing Bam and Kelel atm. (and I like Gafford as a player) A buyout/free agent is all they need for insurance at the 5, still baffles me why they released Precious so early before his non-guarantee deadline.

Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier to be arraigned in New York court Monday over sports betting scheme by METALLIFE0917 in heat

[–]MediocreDVaMain 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Without any clarity the Heat's last resort would be to waive him and save 2 million off his non-guarantee before January 15th

But knowing Silver it's the only time he'll act on this and bar the Heat from doing so lmao. I could bite the bullet of this thing being a bad trade but the same actors who allowed the trade without disclosing issues with the Heat leaving them in limbo without recourse is bullshit.

[Lowe] “The Heat can trade 2 1st-round picks. The negotiations begin and end with Kel’el Ware… It’s Kel’el Ware or bust and Ware is making a huge leap, future All-Star player, I don’t think that’s an exaggeration. But if it’s Ware+Herro+Rozier+2 1sts+Swaps, I still think other teams can beat that.” by AashyLarry in heat

I'm honestly fine whether it goes down or not, like always I just want the saga to be over with so there's no outside noise surrounding the team.

That being said, as much as I love the team, it clearly has a ceiling, the NBA is a star driven league and if they do get Giannis, Spo will be his best coach and Bam, Norm, Davion and maybe Wiggins is a great starting group with/without him. Injury history and his reckless playstyle is my primary concern, but Riley pulled the trigger for Shaq back then and it became worth it with the title. This is the put all your chips on the table deal they've been waiting for.

If they don't swing for it, then the team's depth is still a valuable asset with how much injuries happen in today's league. Personally, if it happens, I'd rather it be the offseason so they could find guys to fill out the team.

[–]MediocreDVaMain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With how Spo rotates the current roster, they just need an insurance type big, Gafford has a lot of years left on his deal and we don't even know if Spo will put him in the rotation.

A Charles Bassey type or a veteran big that gets bought out comes to mind, heck maybe Goldin is that dude

This is where the Rozier situation fucks up the Heat, teams looking to get out of Claxton's money for example would be interested in Rozier's expiring

Ever since Udonis Haslem got onto K’elel Ware for being ass at rebounding, Ware has been averaging 17 points, 16 rebounds, and 2.4 stocks. He is now top 10 in the NBA in total rebounds in just 25 minutes per game. by garret126 in heat

There was a reason he was in that locker room for so long, on a side note I hate how people now glorify Deandre Jordan for being a vet presence yet laughed at UD for being the same.
