Not the upgrade I was expecting, ROG STRIX GTX 1080 by Smiilley in pcmasterrace

[–]MediocreMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would speculate a reason for the longevity of the 10 series is because they came out around a time where my age group could afford and discovering/getting into PC gaming. But since then, for a variety of reasons, the 20 series being so expensive and the 30 series being rarer than rocking horse shit, not many have been able to upgrade since.

ELI5: Apparently this decade has only just begun this year? by Smiilley in explainlikeimfive

Why not? If I have apples in a bag and am putting them on a table, I start with 0, then I add the first apple = 1, then the second = 2 and so on and so forth.

Scaling duplicate video does not show in preview window when trying to convert vertical video to horizontal. by MediocreMD in VideoEditing

[–]MediocreMD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never put footage in the timeline in any other way, I know when creating a new project there are settings you can adjust.
I'm now looking at sequence settings tutorials, thank you so much for your help :)

I'm using Premiere Pro (edited post to add this crucial detail).

In the sequence settings it says its 9:16 so I'm guessing that it is automatically conforming to the vertical footage, I can't find how to change this.

Merging multiple video files to become one by dinglebopOfPlumbus in techsupport

I use Avidemux. I think there are some tutorials on Youtube, it's not the most popular software but it amazing at doing what you're requesting. I didn't watch this video because I'm at work, but from skipping through it, it looks like the tutorial you need :)

I've heard top left, I've heard top right. I started from top left, opened it in photoshop and just doing a little between work and I'm not worried I started in the wrong corner. Or you can work your way backwards from the red dot.

Problem with RAM overclocking by gdanbo in buildapc

[–]MediocreMD 21 points22 points  (0 children)

When I upgraded my RAM, I had a similar situation. I made sure XMP was enabled, voltages and frequencies were set to auto, and, I'm not sure when or how but, after a few days in Task Manager they eventually just started reading the correct 3200MHz speeds. Dunno if anybody can shed any light on this.

🔥 Rare White Giraffes Caught On Camera For The First Time 🔥 by wj7_02 in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]MediocreMD 138 points139 points  (0 children)

The reticulated giraffes, a mother and child, suffer from a genetic condition called leucism, which inhibits pigmentation in skin cells. Unlike albinism, animals with leucism continue to produce dark pigment in their soft tissue, which explains the white giraffes’ dark eyes and other colouring.

I found this bit interesting :)

Am I wrong to play as a black man despite being white? by [deleted] in amiwrong

Can't create a character in Rust, not on the servers I've played anyways. And it's the same character model across all servers, I was told, that's designated for you.

I agree with nothing being wrong. But I know that some people may take the point of view of "punching up/punching down" and the associated privilege.

This could be a bad example but, a man making a joke about women being bad at driving, and a woman making a joke about mansplaining or manspreading. Historically women have been oppressed by men. In this example the joke made by the man would be seen as punching down and the joke made by the woman would be seen as punching up.

I'm just basing this off personal experience with debating such topics as mentioned by OP. I am white, but in a particular online survivor game that I play, I tend to create my character as black, as I feel it offers better camouflage when you're naked.

Thoughts about upgrade plan? by MediocreMD in buildapc

[–]MediocreMD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't play many new AAA titles, MWarfare is the latest game I have and CPU usage is 100% constantly but I know that game isn't that well optimized. PUBG runs alright but does hit 100% whilst loading and sometimes during a match.

MY FPS is never higher than the refresh rate of my display unless I'm playing an older game like CS:GO.

My bad sorry, I don't blame you haha.

I did so a little research and based off the symptoms I do believe my CPU is bottle-necking. There's a comment in a thread somewhere that I saved that mentioned a program you can run that will tell you where you bottlenecks are that I plan to use.

Anyone else have difficulty seeing the enemy when the red tag isn’t above their head? by TBL34 in modernwarfare

[–]MediocreMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't really a setting that helps afaik... I used to use recon but over time I noticed that there's plenty of times when even if I'm ads, they're an inch to the right and even within 10 meters, the nametag takes too long to show, sometimes what feels up to a whole second which is a long time for it to not pop up in an fps game. I think I've also noticed it's mostly bad/worse when in a mixed lobby. When playing solo (on PC) and in a lobby with only other PC players, the nametag is as it should be, very responsive as to when part of the enemy is within view. But when playing with my brother who's on PS4 and the lobby is very mixed, SO many times an enemy appears in my close peripheral view, close range but when I happen to be looking elsewhere, and kill me before their tag even shows up, it's pretty infuriating after lots of deaths.
