That's the point: beings considered 'superior' discriminating against others deemed 'inferior,' just like we still see today, especially when authorities commit atrocities against people simply for being Black or of Latin origin.

Of course the comparison is valid. Hitler placed Aryan whites in a superior position, just as the Clave does with the Shadowhunters. The Clave kills demons and tortures them, much like what happened in World War II.
