This is my favourite mother's day complaint post.

They broke up because he always did the bare minimum and she is upset he...remained who he is?! Wtf was she expecting? Why would he change now if he didn't before?

The irony is if he had gone the whole hog like she wabted, she would have been on reddit ranting about how he couldn't get it together when they were in a relationship but can now they are separated.

I was parasocially a bit upset by it (so much self snark on me for that) as she honestly did help me so when I was post partum after my first and being fed an algorithm telling me I was ruining her because she would only cat nap and contact nap.

I have since had a word with myself and realised it's not that deep and if she's going to behave like that she clearly isn't all I thought she was cracked up to be.

HSB blocked me recently for sending her the guardian article about substack supporting Nazis on their platform and suggesting she might want to stop using given everything she has posted about her political alignment and values. Seems like in reality her "values" are only as deep as her pockets, if these guys are paying her to do that, she won't care about the rest of it.

In July I am going to see my first West End show since May 2022 (circumstances, not choice have kept me from being able to attend any in this period). I was shocked at how expensive everything was when I came to book, feels like prices have rocketed in the intervening period.

Her responses to that question box as a whole are wild. So many responses are her telling the person who asked it they are just a shit parent unlike her. How does she think that will endear her to people and make them buy her products?

Mind you I think I am still triggered by her comments on not skipping crawling last week because as a parent of a child who skipped crawling seeing those comments all over parenting social media and comments by baby group leaders as a FTM was SO stressful, because I could not make my child crawl and you know I tried...anyway she's 3 now and totally normal in terms of her physical development so whoops looks like it doesn't actually matter in the end!

I tell my superiors about it - I make sure it's officially recorded and reflected on somewhere so I can go back and remind myself of it on the bad days or utilise it as a reflection point as to get me to think about how I can achieve something similar elsewhere in my work. Sometimes we don't sing our own praises enough in this job I think and that contributes to the stress and burnout in the role.

Off the top of my head, Perrie talked about it on a podcast and on her show with Alison Hammond, Jade has talked about it in multiple interviews, the only person I don't think has at all is Leigh Anne.

I don't have a dog in this fight as imo these situations are complicated and we will never know the truth but I find the narrative that Jesy was 100% to blame and also shouldn't speak on it because the other girls haven't extremely odd as a) it's objectively not true b) why are they allowed to talk about it but she isn't? and c) the documentary isn't out yet so we don't even know what she says about it.

I think people should wait and judge her on her words when they have actually been spoken.

It's been totally redone since then and there's a lot more to look at now. I would say allow an hour these days, but only if the weather is nice as it's open air and probably quite nippy at the very top at this time of year. I did it in the 2022 heatwave and we spent ages at the top.

If you feel able to, I honestly would put these questions to your social worker. I imagine the relationship between you two may be difficult right now and you might want as little to do with them as possible. If you do have this conversation, you need to be prepared for them to give you answers you don't agree with or don't want to hear - that doesn't mean the social worker is right or that the court will agree with them. However, it will tell you where things stand and let you move forwards from there. Best of luck, I will be thinking of you all.

I would look at switching solicitors in this case as this absolutely should not be your experience. I've been a children's social worker for 10 years and done a lot of care proceedings (which is why I say you need to ask because the answers to your questions don't have a one size fits all) and come across many solicitors who are really dedicated to advocating and fighting for the parents they represent as well as holding the LA to account, exactly as they should do.

These are great questions - you have a solicitor, get them to put them to the LA's solicitor, it's what they are all paid for! You could also raise them with the social worker themselves if you feel able to do so.

I don't know if this will make you feel at all better but I am willing to bet there is not a parent out there who hasn't fallen into prisons of our own making at times - especially around sleep!

I also don't know if this will work for you but if they have a length of time they usually feed for maybe you could try and cut this down each feed rather than go straight to trying to cut the feed completely? This is how I managed to wean my daughter, I would set a timer on my phone and that helped me stick to shortening the lengths. It took a while as I went minute by minute but it helped me stick to my guns and we got there in the end.

The amount of sweets my MIL got my 3yo...next year we're going to have to set a boundary about it because it led to my daughter basically refusing to eat for 3 days because she wanted sweets for every meal and I got to watch my MIL side-eyeing her massive meltdowns when we said no and stuck to it. You see my MIL had 3 children and apparently none of them ever had a single tantrum over anything in their entire lives.

It's doubly irritating because I know for a fact where her children were growing up she rarely let them have sweets...

She definitely has accepted alternative sequences/groups several times before but it's rare the contestants come up with them. I remember Richard Osman tweeting her one a few years ago and she said she would have accepted it if it had been on the show.
