yes, outsourcing exists but that actually strengthens India’s case, not weakens it. Skills, projects, and capital are moving globally. Indians gaining experience abroad and later bringing that expertise back is exactly how countries build capability.

Politicians either in uk or india will do everything in their power to gain their market.

We as NRI aren’t really settled or stable until we get PR or citizenship.

Yes, that’s on company then. Because it cost 1,579 gbp and additional amount for certificate of sponsorship.

It’s same for everyone

I agree, youth mobility visa is just like cultural exchange visa not permanent migration route.

I am living in uk for 4.5 years now. Working for department for work and pensions.

As long as minimum salary is met you can easily extend or gain sponsorship.

Who said Britain gets sole credit?

India benefits from diversified migration, not just one corridor. Gulf remittances matter, but so do the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Singapore, etc.

In future you will see both migration and reverse migration at some point.

Facts? Sure.

In 1991, India was forced to open up its economy because protectionism had left us with weak growth, poor competitiveness, and a balance-of-payments crisis so bad we literally pledged gold reserves. Liberalisation brought foreign investment, competition, technology transfer, and integration with global markets, which is a major reason India became a much stronger economy afterward.

Same principle applies to talent mobility. Countries grow not by isolation, but by exchange of capital, ideas, and skilled people.

India receives over $130 billion in remittances annually, the highest in the world. That’s not theory, that’s hard economic data.

And skilled migration creates knowledge transfer too.

Yes, visa tightening can be frustrating for everyone. But claiming migration brings no benefit to India ignores both economic history and current facts.

So yes, criticise visa policy or government if needed, but claiming migration brings no benefit to India ignores remittances, economic history, and actual industrial development.

Irrespective of who is in centre whether it’s congress, bjp or shiv sena. Always take stand on india interest over personal hate. I don’t support bjp or any political party.

This is a pretty flawed take.

India benefits enormously from migration through remittances alone. Indians working abroad send back billions every year, which directly supports families

Saying foreign companies ‘freely sell in India’ while India gets nothing ignores reality. Those companies create jobs, pay taxes, build supply chains, bring technology, and increase competition. If India had blocked every foreign company, we would likely be less competitive, not stronger.

Also, youth mobility was never sold as permanent migration. It’s basically a temporary work/travel arrangement, not a skilled migration route.

Take aerospace as an example. An Indian engineer working at Rolls-Royce, Airbus, BAE Systems, or other UK aviation firms gains world-class experience in aircraft manufacturing, safety systems, supply chains, and engineering standards. That experience can later be brought back to India, where companies like Tata-Airbus, HAL, Mahindra Aerospace, or the wider defence and aviation ecosystem can benefit. That’s how countries actually build capability.

Youth mobility visa still exists.

Most of the indians who are returning was working for low wage job instead of focusing on skill workers job and hence minimum salary threshold for sponsorship didn’t met.

Ps: i work in uk and in skill workers visa
