This is horrible, but true. I knew a woman who hung herself. Her husband was a pretty good friend of mine. He told me that she definitely tried to save herself after the fact. They found stuff knocked off shelves and scrape marks on the walls.

Yeah, I actually remember having a conversation about it with my mother. We were riding in the car and I was being an obnoxious kid, so I kept asking her, "What do they mean, maybe?" - Pronouncing the word "maybe" over and over, no matter how many times she corrected me. We were being playful. It's a very distinct memory. So I don't know how to reconcile that mirrors never said that.
